Earlier this year you sent me the Chaplain's address at Doha. Can I still use this address??? Thanks

More jewels from "The Federalist" THE FOUNDATION

"...[I]t is a common observation here that our cause is the cause of all mankind, and that we are fighting for their liberty in defending our own." --Benjamin Franklin

______----********O********----______
INSIGHT

"The power cowardliness prefers to conspire with is time, because neither time nor cowardliness finds that there is any reason to hurry." --Soren Kierkegaard {} "Mercy but murders, pardoning those that kill." --William Shakespeare {} "To insist on strength ... is not war-mongering. It is peace-mongering." --Barry Goldwater {} "Victory will never be found by taking the path of least resistance." --Winston Churchill {} "I have one yardstick by which I test every major problem -- and that yardstick is: Is it good for America?" --Dwight D. Eisenhower {} "A brave man is a man who dares to look the Devil in the face and tell him he is a Devil." --James A. Garfield {} "Don't expect to build up the weak by pulling down the strong." --Calvin Coolidge {} "Truth alone can stand the guns of criticism." --Herbert Hoover {} "If the public judges the movie people by some of the interviews that appear in print, they must wonder how they ever kept out of the asylum." --Will Rogers

SHORT CUTS

"The French are a smallish, monkey-looking bunch and not dressed any better, on average, than the citizens of Baltimore. True, you can sit outside in Paris and drink little cups of coffee, but why this is more stylish than sitting inside and drinking large glasses of whiskey I don't know." --P.J O'Rourke {} "Iraqi President Saddam Hussein said Iraq was ready to fight the United States anywhere in the world. Anywhere, huh? Sounds good--we'll take Iraq." --James Taranto {} "The entire world isn't the Heritage Foundation, unfortunately." --Jay Nordlinger {} "Make no mistake about it: we are an impediment to world socialism. That's why Clinton and Carter are more popular outside the United States than they are here." --Rush Limbaugh {} "There is a large segment of American opinion that swoons at the words 'United Nations' and 'international community.' That the international community is a fiction and the UN a farce hardly matters." --Charles Krauthammer {} "Jack Straw, the British Foreign Secretary, said he found it 'extraordinary' that France had closed off all circumstances under which it might support a new United Nations measure. ... That is British diplomatic-speak for 'The frogs are a royal pain in the derrière'." --Rich Galen {} "I think we obviously have to invade Iraq. If we've all gotten together and decided not to hate people that want to kill us, someone should let me know and I'll go live in Alec Baldwinia." --Dennis Miller {} "I don't eat them, whatever they're called. ...They're not on my diet." --Vice President Dick Cheney replying to Tim Russert's question, "Do you prefer french fries or freedom fries?"

Jay Leno.... What we're doing, basically, is giving these key Iraqi officials instructions on how to surrender. See, this is where we could have used the French. .... The military announced this week they're planning to use trained sea lions and seals to guard our ships in the Persian Gulf. That's when you know you don't have any allies -- when you have to turn to other species for help. .... The latest rumor is that Saddam Hussein has set up training camps for suicide bombers in Iraq. ... How lame are you that you need training on blowing yourself up? "Look, Akmed, put on the dynamite belt, then you push the detonator ... oh NO!" .... Did you see this new bomb the government came out with the other day? This superbomb -- it weighs 21,000 pounds.... The Air Force tested this thing yesterday in Florida, and the bomb blast was so strong at Disney World 25 French tourists surrendered.

Argus Hamilton.... President Bush addressed the nation Monday and announced that diplomacy is at an end with Saddam Hussein and his regime. The announcement caused citizens in Baghdad to rush out and purchase supplies. Every store was jam-packed except Target. .... Saddam Hussein issued eleven cashier's checks totaling $225,000 last week and had them delivered to the eleven families of the most recent Palestinian suicide bombers. What's wrong with him? This guy's spending money like there is no tomorrow. .... President Bush invited the world to join America in disarming Saddam Hussein, prompting Poland to offer two hundred soldiers. It's all they dare risk. Poland is keeping most of its troops close to home until Germany decides which side it's on. .... The Dixie Chicks insulted President Bush last week in London. ...The Centers for Disease Control announced it's the first confirmed case of death by microphone outside the Southern California quarantine area. .... Dick Cheney told NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday he doesn't think President Bush's image as a cowboy is a bad thing. The image just comes naturally to him. The only time Bill Clinton was ever photographed kissing a horse, it looked like he meant it.

Thank you for the invite to come and visit! I actually read the Canteen posts everyday! Y'all have adopted some of the crew from the Constellation and the Tarawa and both are near and dear to me due to friends serving on both. I participate with the family support forums for both of those ships and I share with their family members some of the updates that y'all get. Thank you for that!

My bf is a Marine currently deployed to one of those "undisclosed locations" in the middle east. Being involved with Troop Support fills my days until he and his fellow soldiers can return home.

I think y'all are pretty incredible people!!!!!!!

Isn't it great that the Troops have brought together so many wonderful people!

It warms my heart to hear that military families are comforted by the Canteen.
