Pacific Ocean (Mar. 18, 2003) - A T-45C Goshawk catches one of four arresting wires as it lands on the flight deck of USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). The T-45 aircraft are used for intermediate and advanced portions of the Navy/Marine Corps pilot training program for jet carrier aviation and tactical strike mission instruction. The carrier qualifications are normally conducted on an Atlantic-based carrier within close range of the Navy's Meridian, Miss., training facility, however, the T-45 pilot qualifications were moved to the Pacific since Stennis is one of the few carriers currently not forward deployed. FRENCH BRAIN CELLS POPPING . . . HELP!
Theyre worried about boycotts of their products. Theyre concerned about their world image. Theyre suffering angst about their own self-identity. Too bad, so sad. The French have asked for it. They spent days getting into these psycho pits. They can just wallow away.
So theyre willing to assist if there is bio-chem set loose in Iraqi. Big deal. May their Florence Nightingales be there janey-on-the-spot. Yessirree bob.
President Jacquies Chirac continued his tirade today that a US-led conflict is not justified. So what else is new from the French President? Out of the other mouth, it was French ambassador to Washington, Jean-David Levitte, who gave forth the med news that their med teams would be there when chem-bio weaponry was set loose. Nice going, France. Trying once again to do damage control, eh?
Well, the rest of us are not so stupid. But valiant try anyhow.
French Foreign Minister Dominique de Villepin and Russian as well as German same-positions huddled at the UN today to go one more time for an evaluation of inspectors data. Blix, according to CNS News, in the meantime, continues to bewail to the media that he is so so so sorry that the inspections have come to a halt. Hmmm. What part of the Iraqi menu was it that satisfied Blixs palate over there?
Yet to add to the muddle, I ask you if the following makes any sense: Addressing the National Assembly yesterday, Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin defended French-American relations. It is not because we don't want to participate in this war that we are at war with the United States," he said.
What?
But no doubt that which causes the most Frenchy psycho upset is this reasonable assessment: Deputy from the majority UMP party Dominique Dord said yesterday: We would look really stupid if Iraqis applaud the arrival of Americans!
And there you have it: a lone voice of mental health balance midst the popped brain cells of the other French.

Kathy, the story of Mahdi and Scott is very heartwarming. I too have fond memories of the Kuwaitis I met when working at the Kuwait Embassy.

Cluck and hover: Where the HMH 462 helicopter unit goes, so goes its good luck charm -- a musical stuffed chicken. The unit expects to ship out to the front lines in Iraq soon.
