"I think Sen. Daschle clearly articulated the French position," said Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa.,...

LOLOLOL! This deserves repeating. We need to start refering to Dashole as the gentleman from the state of Alsace.

"Wherever you are on the war, one way or another, you have to know that America deserves better leadership in how we disarm Iraq," said House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.

Right, like the leadership shown by the impeached former president in his eight years in office. He lobbed a couple of cruise missiles into the sand and didn't even try to keep any inspectors there after 1998.

"Fermez la bouche, Monsieur Daschle."

I looked this up in my French-English online dictionary:
Literally: "Close the mouth, Mr. Daschle".
Not so literally: "SHUT UP, MR. DASSH*LE!"

Daschle's comments just before the summit caused an uproar in the Senate and a sharp rebuke from the White House, who called his words a "disappointing departure from the longstanding bipartisan tradition of the Senate majority leader when it comes to American foreign policy, particularly on the eve of a major international trip."

Oops, I think somebody goofed. Daschle's so far in the minority he may fall off his step stool.

I have been saying we should all do this! Man, Rick Santorum is a real great Senator. I am envious of my friends across the border in PA. I wish we could find someone like him for NJ. He's so good, I think he could win here.

It is "brazen and political" for a party chairman to be responding to a national security issue "with such divisive and political language," responded Daschle spokesman Jay Carson.

The “I know you are, but what am I?” defense.

They need to use Daschle's words against him from '98 after Clinton signed the regime change Iraqi Liberation Act resolution. Daschle: "Look, we have exhausted virtually all our diplomatic effort to get the Iraqis to comply with their own agreements and with international law. Given that, what other option is there but to force them to do so? The answer is, we don't have another option. We have got to force them to comply, and we are doing so militarily."

This is the last line from one ot today's WSJ R&O Op-eds - "Daschle's French Accent"

The next time Mr. Daschle says he wants to "work with the President," at least we'll know which country's President he's referring to.

May have been posted elsewhere today but you gotta love that!

Look at who is actually the architect of US diplomacy. It is the Secretary of State, Colin Powell.

First, Daschle alienates Hispanics (via Estrada). Now he attempts to alienate blacks by berating the highest ranking black person in the Administration.

Incredible stupidity on Daschle's part.

Would that be North Alsace or South Alsace?
I can never remember which one.

Left this on Daschle's website last night.

You, sir, are a disgrace to your office, this country and the principles upon which it was founded. Do you recall what you said in 1998? Here it is in case you've 'forgotten':

"Look, we have exhausted virtually all our diplomatic effort to get the Iraqis to comply with their own agreements and with international law. Given that, what other option is there but to force them to do so? The answer is, we don't have another option. We have got to force them to comply, and we are doing so militarily."

What's the matter, Tommy? You problem appears to be that it isn't one of your own party doing the job - not that the Democrats - and surely not a President Gore - would have done this in the first place.

No, pal - what you're demonstrating is that you and the party you claim to represent is the party of appeasement and treason. You'd sacrifice the safety and prosperity of my family for the sake of power and control. You'd sacrifice the security of this nation for partisan advantage. You would dance in the blood of the brave men and women who will make the ultimate sacrififice in order to keep scum like yourself free to pursue your ambition to dictate the terms of existence to the rest of us.

Rest assured that my family and I will not let this happen under any circumstances. Many of us have sworn an oath to protect the United States and its Constitution against all enemies, foreign AND domestic. You and your party have clearly demonstrated that you are enemies of human freedom and dignity, of the United States and its constitution. In a better, freer world you and those like you would be swinging from the nearest lamp post. With luck and God's grace, you may just yet.

Senator Daschle should be given the nickname "Black Cloud". He must be the most depressed individual I have ever seen because he is always claiming to be either "Troubled" or "Saddened" by anything that doesn't go his way. Thankfully, that is most things these days...
