NEW YORK (AP) -- ABC has postponed Barbara Walters' annual pre-Oscars interview special on Sunday night because of the potential war with Iraq.

"With such serious issues facing the nation, it was the right decision to postpone the special," Walters said on Wednesday. It was to feature interviews with Nicolas Cage, Renee Zellweger, Julianne Moore.

The only thing I ever watch is Joan (who is a Republican IIRC) mocking people on the red carpet. I don't think they are doing that this year either. Oh well, it was a timesink.

This impending war has literally got the majority of the Left having hissy-fits; nothing is worse to a narcissistic Liberal-especially a Hollywood Liberal-than having the spotlight taken off of them. That's basically what most of the awards shows have become-an exercise in self-worship.

...And speaking of these so-called 'journalists', Bah-Bah's NBC counterpart Katie Couric was quoted this morning on a talk-radio show (by a caller) as asking the New York City Police chief where the safest (or securest) places were in the city; yeah, just give a fledgling terrorist a convenient target-way to go, Kate!

Thank God for small favors.

I'm sure we won't miss Barbara's profound question: If you were a tree what would you be?

LOL! If the producers think taking away the red carpet is gonna shut the Hollywierdos up, they got another thing coming. The celebs can't be thinking colored ribbons, that's so 5 minutes ago.

Susan Sarandon showed the new Solidarity Buttons today.

It's a big, bright green peace sign.

It's going to clash with everything.

They can continue their Oscars, but I strongly urge against broadcasting them worldwide.

No reason why they can't be untelevised and for the benefit of the industry only.

We cannot afford to allow these types to usurp our culture and represent all of us, when they clearly represent the fringe.

It would make me very happy to think Rove/Bush did this on purpose, so I will.

LOL! The buttons would have to be big and green to stand out against those flashy sequined gowns.

On second thought, i expect they'll all go casual this year (just by sheer coincidence) in an effort to pretend to be humble and unimportant "in this time of national blah blah blah".

Won't you just peak at the People issue in your dentist office just to see who is voted "best dressed" and "worst dressed" and find out who was most successful at coordinating their button to their wardrobe while ensuring that the button doesn't impede the view to the cleavage?
