SO THE ODDS ARE HE'S DEAD, IT SEEMS TO ME.
Even if it was a bunker--unless it was several hundred feet deep which it evidently was not--30-40 times would sort of crush sufficient layers to get to the bottom of it, right?

I thought 30-40 Tomahawks were launched, but not actually all of them at the compound? Like 4-6 missiles followed by 2 F-117 guided bunker-busters.
