Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Do we know the approx. time the POW's were captured?
Has there been time for them to be taken to BAG?

Major Garrett looks like he's looked evil right in the eye. He sighs between sentences like he is struggling mightily to continue with decorum.

I'm sure the Iraqis can come up with some VC'esque "killed while trying to escape" or some other BS like that. This is horrible.
Reports of stiffening resistance by Iraq. 5 or 6 RG groups close to Baghdad. They will experience SnA, forst, before they see us on the ground, and when they do see us on the ground, they won't be able to touch us -- while at the same time we'll be able to take them out at will.
Don't follow the "emotional lead" provided by the media.

Major Garrett - describing the reactions of pentagon people seeing the video- clenched jaws, anger etc. Major sounds very upset
To: Dog
It's already rough--and it's going to get rougher. BUT WE WILL PREVAIL!

Fox now reporting "apparently shot in the head, execution style".
I predict little mercy for some Iraqi captors.

Leventhal: They were in a gas station next to a farmhouse. They thought they'd be ambushed. Proof positive that our units are on the ball. Not much of an ambush, when the target is aware.
To: momofsixgirls
They definitely don't worship the same god as we do, do they? No, quite the opposite...
To: Mo1
Blitzer makes me sick. He questioned Rumsfeld as if he were a criminal. He can go to &%$( as far as I am concerned.
To: Petronski
I noticed that about Garrett too. He looks rattled.
To: Dog
There are more fierce weapons in our arsenal which have not yet been brought to bear.
We must bring them to bear at once.
