Dr. Phil rips Code Pinkos (intentionally subjective account)

Dr. Phil McGraw's syndicated daily program took an activist slant Friday when he featured military personnel and families of American POWs and those killed in action in Operation Iraqi Fredom. His guests included Medea Benjamin, AKA "Baghdad Barbie", founder of Code Pink. Benjamin and her cohorts sputtered the usual lines: the evils of Coalition intervention; how badly their Iraqi friends are suffering because of the war; how she and the Pinkettes are the true Americans fighting to save lives; how Iraq is the new Vietnam; how they are justified in getting their message across regardless of the consequences.
Meanwhile, Dr. Phil interspersed pictures and stories of the brave men and women missing and killed in the current action, along with interviews with family members.
McGraw also challenged Benjamin on her position and statements, particularly zinging the protestors stopping traffic, not allowing ambulances through, and wasting the time of police officers when they are most needed for national security. He also opined that she and her Code Pink operatives were being used by the regime in Iraq for propaganda purposes ("useful idiots" came to mind.)
The visibly shaken Benjamin and company were met with chilly silence when making their statements. The military families and representatives received enthusiastic applause and cheers, as did Dr. Phil himself when opposing the Pinkos.
During the end segment while credits rolled, the part in which Dr. Phil always walks out with his wife, some of the Pinkos attempted to get up and run out right in front of them--obviously trying to get out of there post haste. Delicious!

I caught only the last three minutes of the show ....the code pink grrrrrrls all wore round pink badges, no lipstick, looked like those typical low-energy, pinch-lipped, ain't-it-awful lesbians and friends to me. I hope to catch rebroadcast.

God, I just don't know how you can watch this stuff!
Medea Benjamin reminds me of Sandy Duncan on speed.

"and how is that working for you Medea?"

I like Dr.Phil, his short comings besides. We all have them so I overlook his. He also has a personal stake in supporting the troops. I believe a relative of his is fighting over there.

What's your beef with O? I catch her show once in a while and I find it pretty decent. If you haven't seen it lately, I would definately watch it before passing judgement that its just another whiny women's program.

Dr. Phil hit the key issue in one brief exchange. The pinko was saying that democracy isn't working because "the government won't listen to us". Dr. Phil responded: Did you ever think that they did listen, but they just don't agree?"
That crystallizes the arrogance of the left. They don't give anyone else the dignity of having thought through their positions. From the protestors on down, the attitude is "if you only listened to us, you'd agree." They justify disrupting traffic and business with "we must force people to listen to us." They simply do not understand.
The fact that thinking people might have considered and rejected their arguments never crosses their limited brains.

I had absolutely refused to listen to that dr phil person. I ordinarily hate pop psychology and am completely turned off by confrontational therapy and public humiliations. I also am repulsed by oprah winfrey and she is the horse he rode in on.
However, this is a new twist... This is dr phil demonstrating his well placed priorities regardless of his political preferences. dr phil was almost universally respected by the left wing establishment. Watch while they systematically deconstruct him, and try to destroy him and his career.
I might have to give him another look.

Because the guy is associated with Oprah, I've never watched his show. He's some sort of therapist, isn't he? What does he do? A softer Dr. Laura?

Medea should have been at home minding her children. Ahem.LOL! No need! What a horrible thing, to name your daughter Medea. No wonder she's, uh, confused.

Rush refers to these types as the TWO INCH crowd.

I had started watching Oprah again awhile ago when I saw Dr. Phil on there one day. Now there is absolutely no reason to watch her. She is anti-war ( believes the intellectually lazy ideas ).
To: Samurai_Jack
I don't watch him either -- he was on tv when I came home from work. But really, the few times I have seen him, he's very much a common sense, homespun wisdom type of guy. Definitely not a "psychobabbler". He tells people to quit whining, wuit blaming other people for their problems, etc. So as those guys go, he seems pretty good.
Still, listening to other peoples' problems isn't my bag, so I only catch him for a bit if my wife has him on.

Dr Phil doesn't humiliate them, they offer themselves up for humiliation....... as on most talk shows.
