A liberal filled with terror. "A Mean Spirited America"
MSNBC News ^ | May 2 2003 | Jill Nelson

Posted on 05/07/2003 5:57:48 PM PDT by wpetty19

LIVING IN FEAR I feel far more vulnerable and frightened than I ever have in my 50 years on the planet. It is the United States government I am afraid of.

Meanwhile, here in our great democracy, Americans go along with the program or remain silent, too afraid of the Muslim bogeymen thousands of miles away to recognize the Christian ones in our midst. Fearful that we will be verbally attacked, or shunned, or lose our livelihoods if we dare question the meanness that characterizes our government and, increasingly, defines our national character. I do not feel safer now than I did six, or 12, or 24 months ago. In fact, I feel far more vulnerable and frightened than I ever have in my 50 years on the planet. It is the United States government I am afraid of. In less than two years the Bush administration has used the attacks of 9/11 to manipulate our fear of terrorism and desire for revenge into a blank check to blatantly pursue imperialist objectives internationally and to begin the rollback of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and most of the advances of the 20th century.

RECIPE FOR CHANGE It is none too early to begin organizing for the 2004 elections. Each of us must take a hard look at the changes that have been wrought by this administration internationally and domestically and ask ourselves: Is this the democracy we cherish? We must hold our elected officials accountable and make them take a stand against what increasingly looks like fascism. If they will not, we must vote them out of office.

Jill Nelson is whimpering and cowering in the shadows? Great, for it only means liberals have lost their ability to convince Americans to hate their own country. After the triumph in Iraq, its hard to argue with success. And that fact has caused liberals to become completely unhinged. Its fun to watch libs like Nelson wail how they're losing the country. They got that right.

To tell you the truth, after 2001 and even moreso after the past year's election, I've felt like this country's future is brighter than never before. This is country is getting safer by the day and for what its worth, its heading on the right track.

If Nelson thinks America looks ugly, I invite her to move to Cuba.

Liberals aren't filled with terror often enough. When they finally learn just how strongly real American's hate them and their politics, maybe they will learn true terror.

Not one to advocate violence against the insane, I have heard of some who are purchasing good rope in bulk lots. I doubt it's for rigging sails......

". . .too afraid of the Muslim bogeymen thousands of miles away to recognize the Christian ones in our midst. "

. . .don't think it was men from the YMCA that were responsible for September 11th (et al. . .). . .or maybe I am just uninformed. . .

What I find particuarly disgusting in this rant and others like it is the fact that these same people were absolutely silent about Waco and Ruby Ridge. The criminality of bj's government was totaly invisible to them.

I too, and I think many others here at FR, have a concern about an over-powerful Fed Gov. and we should remian vigelent regardless of the administration, but this 'fear" that is becoming a common whine from the left is absurd and hyprocritical.
