What an idiotic resolution from the Oklahoma House if true. I look so forward to the day when Republicans take control of the Oklahoma Legislature. Then perhaps our future minority DemocRATS can infest our neighbor to the south when things don't go their way. What a bunch of losers. They are a sorry lot, aren't they? Must be where that mascot donkey came from. It sure fits them. No offense to the donkey of course. We need to be reminded of these stupid acts when we get into the voting booth come election time.

It happened because of 'Rat gerrymandering of the legislature and a dreadful campaign by Steve "Let's Send Elian Back To Castro" Largent. The state can't indefinitely remain 'Rat and will probably turn GOP sooner rather than later. Henry keeps acting like an a$$hole, and he will definitely be needing to find a new line of work come January 2007.

Great idea. And it would only be fair to let the Governor choose the replacements. By the way, which political party does the Governor of Texas belong to?
Hee hee heeeeeeeee

No act of solidarity? Why aren't the Democrats from OK sitting in a Holiday Inn in the great state of Texas? Oh, wait... they actually want to work for the people of OK!

Here's a thought... Why doesn't the state GOP boycott the legislative session in OK ? Do they have similar requirements as TX for a quorum ? Let's see if the Okie 'Rats think that is swell and pass a resolution commending their colleagues. :-)

Rep Braddock has his voice mail on.
Left him a few choice (and uncensored) words from a Texas taxpayer.

So will JC Watts run this time?

I wonder if the Governor of Texas can issue an executive order demanding their return or be terminated. I know he said tonight on the Brit Hume show that he will call for a special session in order to complete their work I don't see why not. He can claim that they have quit because he has no idea when they are going to come back if ever. If it were a regular job and a person refused to come to work for a week because they objected to the work they would be terminated. I don't see why the same standard wouldn't apply.

For Governor ? Perhaps, though I think Mary Fallin (the GOP Lt Gov) deserves a shot at the job in '06. She should be giving Henry lots of heartburn. If Sen. Nickles retires next year, that would be what J.C. would go for (probably would be dragged kicking and screaming into that race !).

Oklahomans send conservatives (for the most part) to Washington and into many statewide offices, but still manage to elect a majority of Democrats to its state legislature. In the 20+ years I've lived here, the Dems have always controlled both chambers.
Henry seems like a decent guy (as Democrats go), but he spends a lot of time trying to have it both ways...pretty weak, really.
Do hope these guys will be branded "Okies" back home... and wish they'd still be arrested back on Texas soil. The mug shots would be so sweet!

Oklahoma's Democrat-controlled House of Representatives passed a resolution Tuesday commending Texas Democratic House members who fled that state to stifle redistricting plans they opposed They are Commending the Texas Rats for running away and failing to show up to do their job ??
The ONLY message it sends is that the Dems are obstructing justice and the law.
THe Rats are FAILING to do their job. They are showing the nation that they don't like the way our democracy works
The Dems lost the majority because that is what the people of Texas voted for .. Deal with it

Dem guv, Dem controlled House, and Dem controlled Senate. How did that happen? the legislature is historically dem. it's trending republican, as the conservatives in the demoncratic party slowly move to the gop, just like in the south, and texas. but it's a mistake to say at the moment, that dems here, particularly in farming or other rural communities, are liberal.
the most recent election for governor was very intersting. largent (r), brad henry (d), and richardson (i) were the major players. richardson garned alot of support with a populist campaign (make these turnpikes free!) eastern oklahoma had a large turnout because of the cockfighting issue on the state ballot.
largent was for the statewide ban. henry was against. rural dems came out for the issue, and voted for henry. urban voters, which overwhelmingly wanted to ban cockfighting, couldn't seem to pull the lever for largent, for whatever reason.

urban = liberal, usually.
If the Dems ever destroy our country, it will be with the willful help of our city folk.

WHERE is the mainstream media on ANY part of thisAgain, this was my question. Even the newspapers. I don't have Lexus Nexus, but using news.google, and searching on "Braddock" (the name of the Rep that introduced the resolution) this AP piece run in a small Kansas paper, is the ONLY hit I get!

Should say, "Oklahoma Democrats praise law-breaking Texas Democrats."
