I've had it.

Posted on 05/20/2003 8:43:51 AM PDT by BeerSwillr

I've had it with illegal aliens, illegal immigration, and the complicit attitude of US immigration policy!

My 16 year old has been looking for a summer job for the last 3 months, what he's found has been surprising. Not only are there no summer jobs available, there are no jobs available, period, for someone with no experience.

So you say he's not looking hard enough? That the jobs are there, you just have to find them. HA!

All the entry level, low skill jobs that would normally be taken by teenagers and young adults during the summer are being taken by illegal immigrants, at least here in Texas. The few places that don't hire illegals have to contend with 10 or more applicants for each open position.

So who is this hurting you ask? Just a few teenagers who will be back in school in a couple of months? Just a few teenagers that will contribute little to the overall economic picture? WRONG!

You know the answer. It's hurting everyone. Teenagers would spend almost every penny they earned, contributing immensely to the overall economic health of the US. They would be in the malls, movie theaters, and restaurants spending their hard earned pay, leaving their parents free to spend their money on something else.

The illegal aliens? They used to maintain a low profile. Now, they don't bother. They can be seen everywhere; mowing lawns, planting trees, roofing & framing houses, working at the lube shack, pouring concrete, gathering at several official and unofficial day worker hang-outs in the mornings (when it would be extremely easy for immigration to swoop in and arrest them.)

Where you don't and won't see them is out spending their money (except for at Wal-Mart.) You don't see them at Bennigans, Chilis, Tony Romas, Cinemark, the mall, car dealerships, etc.

Know why?

They don't have any money to spend on the US economy because they're sending everything except a small subsistence back to Mexico.

The illegals are not here to help us or the US economy. Anyone that says they are here to take jobs that US citizens don't want is being disingenuous.

They're siphoning off millions of dollars a year from the economy. Not only by taking jobs, but a host of other ways; education benefits, medical assistance, government assistance, thievery, robbery, drug dealing, you name it, they're involved in it.

And what is the Department of Homeland Security™ doing about this? They're putting on a dog and pony show.

They're outlining major new methods of monitoring ports of entry, airports, etc. with biometrics, fingerprinting, radar, facial recognition technology, and who knows what else, while at the same time doing nothing to monitor thousands of miles of open space where, apparently, it is relatively easy to cross into the US.

It seems to me that simple reconnaissance flights over that vast unmonitored territory would be able to identify these border violations and put a stop to, or at least slow, this illegal invasion of our country.

The Department of Homeland Security™ is largely ignoring the issue. Illegal entry into the US continues unabated across our borders.

It makes me sick.

What can we do about it? Other than mew weakly and post articles like this on the large wasteland that is the internet?

Contact your elected officials and let them know what you're thinking. Let them know you will hold them accountable. It's all in our hands.

Borders? We don't need no stinkin' BORDERS!!

At the time of his approach to Red China, Richard Nixon (a REPUBLICAN for those of you from Rio Linda) was approached by an internationalist businessman who was literally salivating over the prospect of access to the BILLIONS of potential Chinese slave laborers and “customers” (although this rocket scientist had apparently not yet concluded that the Chinese people would be hard pressed to buy his stuff without MONEY!!!!).

This businessman was concerned that Nixon had been SAYING that he was cooling to the idea of an opening to Red China to quell the uprising within the then very much more America-First rank and file Republican Party.

As reported years later, Nixon told the businessman
“DON’T LISTEN TO WHAT WE SAY: WATCH WHAT WE DO!"

AS YOU READ THIS, IT APPEARS THAT BUSH, DASCHLE AND OTHERS ARE WELL DOWN THE ROAD TO USING THIS PAGE FROM THE NIXON PLAYBOOK!

IT APPEARS THAT DUBYA -- LIKE NIXON (and numerous others) BEFORE HIM --IS NOW “DOING” US (IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE).

Look, America – the IDEA not the PLACE – can only continue to exist if we heed the advice of the founding fathers (paraphrased here in the current vernacular for residents of Rio Linda), to wit:
“The Founding Fathers have determined that failure to WATCH politicians – ALL POLITICIANS (even those you may worship!) – is dangerous to the security of this nation and to the freedoms we paid such a heavy price to TRY to leave you and your children.”

“Yes, we did produce a near-perfect republic. But will they keep it? Or will they, in the enjoyment of plenty, lose the memory of freedom? Material abundance without character is the path to destruction.”
That from the radical right-wing, tinfoil hat wearing wacko, Thomas Jefferson.

All I can speak for is the attitudes of the teens & labor force here and they won't get out there and pick tobacco & bale straw in 100 degree temperatures all day long.

Interesting, for example, in Los Angeles there isn't any fields or straw bailing anywhere in sight, yet there are millions of illegals there.........

That's exactly what it's going to take [3rd Party]. This better of two evils crap is a farce. It's a two headed snake, either die quick or die a little slower is no choice! It's my opinion that the two party cartel and the corporations that support them are all really one in the same, as they obviously don't give a damn any longer about the direction America is headed...

Bump That.

"I wish I had the Plastic Dashboard Virgin Mary concession here in Colorado. I could retire. Oh, and the Mexican flag concession too."

Yeah? You should go to Mexifornia where it is common to see on many cars the decal of an obvious Mexican cartoon character (wearing a sombrero and serape) pi**ing on the American flag. I thought I was seeing things the first time I saw it, but then I kept on seeing more and more of them. Welcome to Aztlan, my friends. These ingrates have made no bones about it, they are after our country, and they'll trash it like they trashed their own toilet of a country before they got here.

I feel your pain. If you really want to get depressed look at yesterdays USATODAY. They have an article about cities that were all white 30 to 40 years ago that now have a high proportion of immigrants, primarily hispanic. This whole issue is a ticking time bomb. Our country is going to pay for it down the line. In CA. older whites are fleeing the state in mass and moving to states that have a higher percentage of whites. I know this kind of talk is not PC but that is the way it is.

And apparently it is growing.

I hope you don't expect those who benefit($$$) from our laughable border policies to respectfully disagree with you. 'Cause condescension is about their only play.

Just be thankful none of them have whipped out the race card yet.

What's with this $3.50 per hour stuff? The Mexican day-laborers in my area make $10-$12 per hour cash.

Please don't mistake what I've said as being for illegal migrant workers, i'm not.

No I understand what you're saying, but the market is flexible enough so that if a business can't find American workers to pay at a decent wage, they fold and get into something else. What's happening now is corporate welfare at our expense.

For years, our geopolitical strategy vis a vis Mexico has consisted of allowing her to be a parasite off of US prosperity. This is indeed nothing new and, as noted in "The Nine Nations of North America," is geared toward preventing another revolution down there. Personally, I think we need to go back to our previous strategy of keeping Mexico at arm's length and if a revolution happens and the Communists try to take over, then send in the friggin' Marines. Somewhere along the way we lost our senses and got into the current sick and enabling relationship. We are within our rights to stop it.

The answer is asset forfeiture.
Any and all business that employs them.

I live on the Olympic Peninsula in WA. state.
My wife teaches Sunday school, last year she had one mexican kid in her class. Clearly here illegally. This year over half of her class are children of illegals.

You and I both did this kind of work, i'm not sure how old you are but i'm 38 and i'm here to tell you that the work ethic's of kids today are alot worse than our's was. Whereas we would've been happy having a job period, youngsters today aren't willing to break their backs like we did. I literally had a job shoveling & washing down cow $hit out of my Grandfathers dairy, but I don't believe the kids of today (mine included) are willing to do those type of jobs.

Meanwhile, US citizens like you and me are subsidizing their expanding population with our tax dollars going for medical care, welfare and education. It takes 2 incomes to pay for all the taxes (including hidden taxes in the products/services we buy) just to support this....which means most people delay marriage, childbirth and have fewer children.

The Great UNTOLD STORY.

It might interest you to know that there are now more Mexicans in the US than there are Blacks.

Yes this is true, but you've also got Bleeding Heart Liberals galore with special social programs willing to send them to school and pay them just for being in America.

This govenment will no longer take steps to protect our sovereignty. It's not part of their agenda.

Fast-food restaurants ... would hire significantly more employees if the minimum wage were lower.

And I wouldn't have to wait in line fifteen minutes to get my food, either, because they'd have more than one register open.

I was working a second job at minimum wage several years ago - when the minwage went up, the store had to cut back on hours staffed. That meant there were 3 people working a busy shift instead of 4, so the customers did not get the same amount of attention as they had previously. The same amount of side work had to be done, but by 3 people instead of 4. So the workload went up by 1/3, and the paycheck went up by some minuscule amount that I didn't even notice. Cutting even one hour from someone's weekly schedule negates any raise in the minwage.

It's the federal governments responsibility to protect our borders and our sovereignty. In my opinion, it's no accident that they have failed at this.

Hiring illegals drives down wages for all of us and sends billions of dollars out of the country.

It's actually the exact opposite......oddly enough.

The hiring of illegal labor removes tax money from the "pool" (in two ways, non-tax paying illegals and non-tax paying unemployed). The "pool" demands that it, itself, remain full. So the "pools" administrators increase the min wage in order to move the poor into a more taxable class therefore regenerating the "pool".

And it's not just the wages; the overwhelming of the emergency rooms and the healthcare system and other social services, millions of dollars in unpaid medical bills that have forced some medical facilities to close, the uninsured drivers, increased violent crime, stolen vehicles heading straight to Mexico, sharp increases in insurance rates, lanquage difficulties in schools, and I could go on. All this in just the city I live in in a southern border state and it's not unique. And nothing is being done to solve the problems.

Well, you will never get the chance to find out now will you?

I hated doing those jobs....hated doing them with every fiber of my being. And I don't think anyone else enjoys the work either, illegals included. But that didn't stop me nor anyone I knew and I don't think that would stop my kids now if they had the chance to actually take the jobs that is.
