I've had it.

Posted on 05/20/2003 8:43:51 AM PDT by BeerSwillr

I've had it with illegal aliens, illegal immigration, and the complicit attitude of US immigration policy!

My 16 year old has been looking for a summer job for the last 3 months, what he's found has been surprising. Not only are there no summer jobs available, there are no jobs available, period, for someone with no experience.

So you say he's not looking hard enough? That the jobs are there, you just have to find them. HA!

All the entry level, low skill jobs that would normally be taken by teenagers and young adults during the summer are being taken by illegal immigrants, at least here in Texas. The few places that don't hire illegals have to contend with 10 or more applicants for each open position.

So who is this hurting you ask? Just a few teenagers who will be back in school in a couple of months? Just a few teenagers that will contribute little to the overall economic picture? WRONG!

You know the answer. It's hurting everyone. Teenagers would spend almost every penny they earned, contributing immensely to the overall economic health of the US. They would be in the malls, movie theaters, and restaurants spending their hard earned pay, leaving their parents free to spend their money on something else.

The illegal aliens? They used to maintain a low profile. Now, they don't bother. They can be seen everywhere; mowing lawns, planting trees, roofing & framing houses, working at the lube shack, pouring concrete, gathering at several official and unofficial day worker hang-outs in the mornings (when it would be extremely easy for immigration to swoop in and arrest them.)

Where you don't and won't see them is out spending their money (except for at Wal-Mart.) You don't see them at Bennigans, Chilis, Tony Romas, Cinemark, the mall, car dealerships, etc.

Know why?

They don't have any money to spend on the US economy because they're sending everything except a small subsistence back to Mexico.

The illegals are not here to help us or the US economy. Anyone that says they are here to take jobs that US citizens don't want is being disingenuous.

They're siphoning off millions of dollars a year from the economy. Not only by taking jobs, but a host of other ways; education benefits, medical assistance, government assistance, thievery, robbery, drug dealing, you name it, they're involved in it.

And what is the Department of Homeland Security™ doing about this? They're putting on a dog and pony show.

They're outlining major new methods of monitoring ports of entry, airports, etc. with biometrics, fingerprinting, radar, facial recognition technology, and who knows what else, while at the same time doing nothing to monitor thousands of miles of open space where, apparently, it is relatively easy to cross into the US.

It seems to me that simple reconnaissance flights over that vast unmonitored territory would be able to identify these border violations and put a stop to, or at least slow, this illegal invasion of our country.

The Department of Homeland Security™ is largely ignoring the issue. Illegal entry into the US continues unabated across our borders.

It makes me sick.

What can we do about it? Other than mew weakly and post articles like this on the large wasteland that is the internet?

Contact your elected officials and let them know what you're thinking. Let them know you will hold them accountable. It's all in our hands.

"I wonder if she's the stripper that cost Mike Price his job at Bama. Same name."

Good one, she wouldn't be smart enough to try to blackmail him first! (smart comment of course, I don't condone that activity.)

Is it that you don't want Mexicans to become naturalized citizens, or that you don't want Mexicans who are illegal aliens living here? Do you draw a distinction between the two?

The city of Huntington Beach, California has actually set up a place where illegal aliens can congregate and get picked up for day jobs. I call this "aiding and abetting" a criminal act, don't you? >>>>>>>>>

Sheeesh....You have just ONE day "labor corner" ???

My small TX town (18,000) has TWO.....when I passed one last sat. I noticed a few blacks & a couple anglos also waiting for work.

My husband often jokes that he should quit his job, so we lose our home, end up on welfare, and live in low-income housing. With all of the perks that the government pays for, our standard of living might actually rise, by making such a wise career move!

Do like we do.

Stay out of all debt other than your mortgage, and buy a home in the best area possible, buy as little material crap as possible, don't buy new cars, ours are all old and well maintained, and make as *little* money as possible to avoid high income taxs. Works for us very well. We try to contribute as little as possible to this government sponsored madness......

Unfortunately, I think the president and his advisors (Rove et al) are trying to grow the party with this issue. Mexicans share many of the same values as Republicans- hardworking, God- fearing, pro-life, family-oriented, etc. Their thinking must be that they might as well be republicans. Unfortunately, we are playing the Rats' game by buying them off. I hate it that we have to buy people off to get them to believe what is true. However, with poverty comes lack of education so American dollars are the only thing they understand right now.

GOP = American dollars to support their family

The dems have used the same strategy for years to grow their party with the poor through social programs and trade protection to protect union jobs. W must think it's our turn to grow the GOP this way. I don't like it, but I don't know what else to do. The dems own the educational institutions of this land and are indoctrinating our youth. We're screwed if we do and screwed if we don't.

i do indeed draw a distinction and that's a great question.

sure, if you want to be a citizen and be a part of the country, by all means stay, BUT

...if like so many, you hate this country and want to conquer it, get OUT!

What do you think? To me, this isn't just a case of "freedom of speech and thought" when it's some illegals making threats. That freedom is for us and not those that hate us and don't want to assimilate.

We can be neighbors, but if you're a crummy neighbor, then we've got a problem with you and should let you know about it.

It's just so frustrating when you're taught at your gestapo public school to treat these "people" with courtesy and respect and then they just lift their legs and treat you like a fire hydrant and defecate on your country.

Those illegals with those attitudes should be lined up and marched out of the country at the point of a bayonet. And that's being kind.

Ironically, my American born neighbors are the ones that are harassing the neighborhood, abusing each other, doing illicit drugs, neglecting their children, and ending up in jail. They teach their children to hate the police and any authority, that they are all "out to get us" and Daddy is completely innocent, which he isn't. This family does not understand anything about the hard work that is necessary to achieve the American dream.

My Mexican born neighbors are hard working, good parents, respectable, and upstanding people. This family is very law abiding, and really enjoys being a part of the community. They feel fortunate to be here.

I would take ten like my Mexican born neighbors, over my American born neighbors, any day.

This has certainly been a learning experience for me.

Not only are the jobs gone for teenagers, manufacturing jobs are leaving the U.S. Dennison Mfg.CO left Crossville, TN a few years ago. They make Hi-Liter markers, Stick On Notes, Micropore stamp pads... the Carter Ink people. It was the life blood of the community. To take care of the vacation schedule of their employees, they were very good about hiring college students during the summer. No more! That mfg. co. moved to Mexico.

i've had a similiar one in my awful apartment building. My upstairs neighbor is some piece of hillbilly trash who deals meth to tattooed skinheads with no teeth.

i've had good mexican neighbors, but the kind like your neighbors will disappear as they increase in numbers. Soon, it'll be whitey this and gringo that and huero there.

Right up until I encountered takeover threats and being told to shut up, I thought these people were my friends for over a year!

Again, I have a hard time understanding you.

Yes, there are terrible whites, that you call rednecks, (I am assuming he was white) and some terrible hispanics. But, you can't lump them all together. Are all white people bad? No. Are all hispanics bad? No.

I myself would be more upset about the man with the meth, than the hispanics who called you a name. The man who is dealing drugs brought many more problems into your neighborhood than a hispanic who hurt your feelings.

Finding new friends sounds like the answer, in any case.

1) They are undocumented immigrants, not illegal aliens. They have a legal right to be here, and the borders should be opened up.>>>>>>>

What law has been passed that makes them LEGAL without a US
greencard or visa ??? Even mexico calls their southern border crashers ILLEGALS.

2) They were here first, so they have more right to work here, receive aid, etc., than any of you.>>>>>>>

LOL.....right out of the pages of the "la raza" book.

3) They do help the economy. In fact, our economy has tanked since so many immigrants have been kept out. Thank God Bush is not totally in line with you on this subject.>>

10,000 ILLEGALS a day have continued to cross our borders
since 9-11, & through our sinking economy.

4) What I'm reading on this thread is pure racism and a latent hatred of those of Latino descent, and if you don't watch it I'm going to hit the abuse button.>>>

Why are we *racist* if we're aganist lawbreakers ???
Seems to me clubs like "la raza" & the "brown party" might
RIGHTLY be called RACIST.

5) Any questions?!? >>>>>>>

Is the *sly fox* paying you about $4.80 a DAY, to monitor
web sites ???

Bump for later, to see if Tiffany was joking in her comments.I also wonder what state she chooses to reside in, as she's not flying her state flag either.>>>>>>>

I'm sure she flies her *country flag* in her front yard and
on her car......as many of them do.....:o)

The whole thing about companies leaving the US lock stock and barrel is just sickening, it always has been. And it seems like they usually do it with no concern with what happens to the community they abandon.

Just a question, if a Mexican calls someone a gringo, is that an insult, or just similar in connotation to Americano?

The same corporations that American people built and made great, no longer have any allegiance to America or it's people. They have made that inordinately clear by their actions. These same corportations, support this invasion of millions. This too is clear.
