I take offense to that stereotype... I shop at Walmart and fleamarkets, the dollarstore, the grocery store, etc. I don't shop at the mall or outlet stores. I guess that means my spending patterns are more in line with the immigrants. Being frugal leaves me in good company.

heh. I guess my Grandmother is right there with you and the illegal immigrants. She loves shopping at Walmart and flea markets.

Around here it isn't a stereotype. Now other people do shop at wal-mart here but the flea market isalmost all "immigrants." I don't ever see them in the dollar store or grocery store (the wal-mart is a supercenter with groceries.) The money you spend at wal-mart goes right to chinese sweatshops. I try to only go there for things I can't find anywhere else (like my crochet supplies.) I was surprised to find out recently that the Dollar General stores here that are newly built (the older ones are ratty) have the prettiest clothes for my kids at $5 an outfit. And for groceries, if you get a Kroger Plus card you save *alot* of money and groceries are cheaper than walmart supercenters that way.
