Only four holes after that... yeah, I'd agree that she does does well for the first 14 holes, she should be good for the rest of the day. ;^)

"And Annika hasn't played the longish holes yet..."

Not following the stats, eh? Did I not see a par on a 500+ yard hole?

But if my abilities are not up to par (pardon the pun) with the men, I would then be more competitive against the women. What is wrong with me being competitive against the women, if it's okay to be competitive against the men?

I'm not saying I would do this, but I'm sure that there are many men that will not make the cut for the PGA.

There's no sun, so they won't dry out much.

It's really whether the wind picks up. That will dry the greens and make it a lot harder to work the ball right to left.

"She has a 15ft birdie putt on a 476 yard hole! So much for the length arguement.."

Obviously the measurement of hole-length is imprecise, and this hole is probably 20 or 30 yards shorter than its advertized length. (sarcasm)

Most of the criticiism of her game has been that she wouldn't be able to get to the greens as easily as the men

On a very short course like Colonial, getting to the greens isn't a problem (for Annika or anyone else). It's making the iron shots stick once they get there. Fortunately, with the slow greens due to the rainy conditions, that hasn't turned out to be a problem for her either. As a commentator just said, the conditions could not possibly be more perfect right now for her game -- short course, slow greens.

Nothing wrong with it, but just like the boy scouts the LPGA is an association that sets its membership requirements, and UNLIKE the PGA the LPGA is not gender neutral, it does require its members to be women. The PGA has no gender requirement and never has.

Yes there are many men who could not make the cut for the PGA... and there are a lot of men who couldn't make the cut for the LPGA either.. that doesn't mean that no woman ever could make the cut for the PGA.

Not much wind either. Rather cool day for May in Texas, actually.

I dispute that this is a short course. Overall it's maybe 200 yards shorter than the average PGA course, but that's an average of only about 10 yards per hole. There are no short 3's, there are three 4's (I think) that are 450+ yards, and a 600+ 5.

Gotcha. Okay then. If she's good enough she'll make it. All the power to her then.

Kinda hate the discriminatory practices though. Kinda like, why can't a 30 year old join Little League, huh?

Well, if the PGA has no gender requirement, then there's nothing to complain about.
