May 23, 2003 -- Residents of a Bronx building are outraged after getting an unexpected morning "greeting" yesterday from a police drug squad, which burst into their homes, waved guns at children and then left after finding nothing. "At 7:50 a.m., they burst down the door to the building," said Joe Celcis, a teacher whose mother and sister live in the home.

They smashed open a door, handcuffed several people and put a gun in the face of 12-year-old Jennifer Espady before going though everyone's belongings, witnesses said.

There is no price too high to pay to rid the nation of demon marijuana.

is a sarcasm tag really neccessary?

What a bunch of whiners!

No one was shot and killed, and no one was pistol-whipped. Not even one GD dog was kicked!

Sounds like these civilians got off easy; no one got hurt.

It pays to keep your nose clean.

The spokesperson said the information that led them to 3629 Olinville Ave. was "accurate," unlike a May 16 raid in which a bogus tip led cops to the home of 57-year-old church volunteer Alberta Spruill, who died of a heart attack after a stun grenade was tossed into her home.

Gee!!! The information was accurate. They didn't find any drugs or any guns, but hey, the information was accurate.

Just what in the Hell constitutes INACCURATE information, then?

Geeez... Another victory for the war on drugs.

I know. I was pretty disapointed until I read the part about the 12 year old. At least there was that.

Well at least they didn't use a stun grenade giving somebody a heart attack this time.

Inaccurate info would be that which you provide in your defense after blowing away cops invading your home.

This young girl and some of the other residents will probably commit some crime in the future. We need to nip this potential crime spree in the bud. Go WOD LEOs.

"I was pretty disappointed until I read the part about the 12 year old. At least there was that."

Yeah, but more younger kids would be better.

Those 12 year olds can be pretty hardened already.

Ya gotta get 'em young! Then they'll remember who's boss!

NYPost:"I want the city to pay," said Jennifer's mom, Amerite.

Sounds like these civilians will get mucho dinero.

Do you mean on the police or the peasant side of the equation?

The police SMASHED IN THE DOOR

Guess you missed that part.

Some of us prefer CITIZEN to CIVILLIAN, btw, since we don't live in a POLICE STATE.

(Apparently someone needs to notify the NYPD)

So violating constitutional guarantees against unlawful search and seizure is ok with you if it's done in the name of a cause you support? Interesting.

I think the Totalitarian Republic message board is a few doors further down on the left.

I heard a great radio intervew a couple of days about the last "wrong door" police raid (the one that resulted in Johnnie Cochrane's $500 million lawsuit against New York City). The cops who are involved in these incidents are so damned screwed, and they ought to be -- I never knew this, but before a warrant for a raid like this can be issued, a whole host of people must sign off on sworn affidavits saying that they witnessed illegal activity occurring at the address in question.

The gummint has just taught them the invaluable lesson that when you screw it up, you don't have to make it up.

Just think of it as a preemptive strike.
