"Right to Privacy... let's see, Right to Privacy..." Hmm.... Don't seem to really find that in the Constitution....

Do you really think the constitution gives us our rights? Our rights come from our creator. The Constitution limits government rights not individual rights. One of Madison's concerns in drafting the Bill of Rights was that those enumerated rights would become the ONLY protected rights. It appears that today even conservatives wish for a powerful federal government that restrains us within the narrow framework of the Bill of Rights.

Bump.

I cringe every time I hear some conservatives say that our legal rights are only the rights enumerated in the US Constitution.

Unfortunately, Madison, as well as other framers, did not envision - and certainly would not countenance - nine unelected judges telling the rest of America what those "unenumerated" rights are! And he and other framers have probably turned over in their grave uncountable times in the last 40 years due to Griswold, Roe and other groundless Supreme Court "rulings"...

Combine that with the apparent lack of concern over government spending, and you definately see a movement (conservativism) in retreat. I'd call them liberals of a different sort, with different oxes to gore. Similar MO though..

Let me get this straight. Are you saying that God has given me the right to penetrate another man's rectum with my penis? I'll have to admit that's one place where one is apt to find a penumbra, come to think about it.
