Prices...you got that right. My 4 bedroom house worth 240,000 in North Texas would be worth over a million in Mountain View. There is no way I could move to the Silicon Valley and afford to live there. I checked the mobile home parks and even they have waiting lists.

Mountain View, eh? My company has an office in Mountian View, where I lived for 13 years, and several more in Maryland, where I now live.

Software Engineers and Systems types are slowing moving to Maryland from MTV. They sell their 1,500 sq. ft. houses in Mt. View, Sunnyvale and San Jose and use the proceeds to buy 5,000 sq. ft. houses on 1 or more acres of land in Maryland, furnish and landscape the new place, and still have money left over.

$240,000 will buy you a hovel in San Francisco. I'm dumbfounded that you can get a 4-bedroom house for that amount.

I wish tourists would forget politics when they visit here. Just enjoy the natural beauty! Anywhere along the waterfront is astroundingly gorgeous.

From the Embarcadero, to Pier 39, to Fisherman's Wharf, Aquatic Park, the Marina Greens, the yacht harbor, the Palace of Fine Arts, the Palace of the Legion of Honor - if you stay along the water's edge, your eyes will have a feast. So much blue!
