***Democrats Are About To See Trap They set for GWB Close On Themselves***
Sunday Shows | Stardate: 0307.13

Posted on 07/13/2003 8:25:32 AM PDT by The Wizard

In a little noticed warning a few weeks ago, Sen. Warner let slip a comment that he had seen evidence of WMD that wiuld convince anyone about the propriety of the President's actions....

Today on Fox, NSA Dir. Rice pointed out that the British Government still stands behind their comments about Africa.....

The democrats and their lapdogs in the media, always a week or two behind this President, are still trying to prevent GWB from getting any air time for his great victories with Blacks in Africa, and have trotted out old NAALCP Infume to blast the President as well.

But soon the trap will spring shut, and it's going to be fun to watch

Over the next few weeks, Tony Blair is going to show that what GWB said was true, making the dimwits look like the political hacks they are, and shortly after that, I cannot report when, the WMD report that is being prepared by our new Cheif investigator, (David, former UN investigator) will prove that WMD programs and the weapons theemselves have been found.......

That day the news will be so over powering that even the lapdogs will turn on their dimwit masters to protect their own credibility, and start asking why we were lead to believe that the democrats were right telling them WMD wouldn't be found, (you see, behind the scenes the dimwits have had to swear that these weapons wouldn't be found to get the media to go along)

That is going to make the firworks of this 4th of July look pale, and I cannot wait.......

The Brits are staunchly sticking to their version of the story, which includes the under-reported fact that they have never actually revealed their source(s) to the US.

And I do not think this story, even if all and the worst things the Dems say is true, has much traction with the American people. Because, suppose we look at it from their angle, are they arguing, after all the terrible things that have come out about Saddam, and that are not disputed by anyone, that leaving him there would have been a good thing.

The dems and the left are as lost as I've ever seen such a large group of people. They seem to fail to realize that after 9/11 the American people lost any residual guilt over Vietnam, or Slavery, or our Culture, or lack of Culture. We are no longer willing to kow-tow to those who seek to destroy us, as individuals and as a nation.

And that includes any Americans who would join in that destruction. Especially, any Americans who want to be our President.

Ditto on the economy recovering. My company - a small contract pharma producer - did have a layoff.

But...

The economy is roaring back. We've begun re-hiring people, working six days a week just to meet demand and we're looking at spending several mil on capital projects this fall.

I think this is something that's going to be seen over the entire nation during the coming months. One can only go so long without investing in capital projects. Many companies soon will be doing this type of investing - and the TRICKLE DOWN { :-) } will be HUGE for the economy.

There NEVER will be a time whan GWB's skill, luck, or accomplishments will win these people over. They would sooner see the destruction of our nation that admit that the Garafolo's of the world don't know what they are talking about.

I'm not actively religious, but I believe that the only thing that will save this country is God. GWB is a good man, with good intentions. Maybe we all need to start praying.

Officials Say Bush Uranium Claim Accurate

WASHINGTON The Bush administration said Sunday the president's statement in the State of the Union address about Iraq's seeking uranium was accurate and is supported by other British and U.S. information.

Nevertheless, said Condoleezza Rice, the national security adviser, the statement should not have been in the Jan. 20 speech, in which Bush laid out reasons for military action against Iraq. "We have a higher standard for presidential speeches" than raw intelligence, she told "Fox News Sunday."

Rice said Bush's claim was a small component of his case against Saddam Hussein.

"It is ludicrous to suggest that the president of the United States went to war on the question of whether Saddam Hussein sought uranium from Africa," Rice said. "This was a part of a very broad case that the president laid out in the State of the Union and other places.

"But the statement that he made was indeed accurate. The British government did say that. Not only was the statement accurate, there were statements of this kind in the National Intelligence Estimate," a classified document compiled by U.S. agencies, she said.

In the speech, Bush said: "The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa."

Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, echoing Rice in an appearance on ABC's "This Week," said the statement was "technically correct" because Bush noted the source of the claim was Britain.

U.S. intelligence agencies had raised questions previously about assertions of such activity by the Iraqi president. Rice said CIA Director George Tenet had removed from a Bush speech in Cincinnati three months earlier a more specific reference to Iraqi efforts to buy uranium for nuclear weapons. Underlying documents to support the British contention proved to have been forged.

"The British stand by their statement," Rice said. "They have told us that despite the fact that we had apparently some concerns about that report, that they had other sources, and that they stand by the statement."

Asked whether she or her colleagues in the administration had seen additional British evidence, Rice said: "The British have reasons, because of the arrangements that they made, apparently, in receiving those sources, that they cannot share them with us. We have every reason to believe that the British services are quite reliable."

After the controversy over the State of the Union comment followed Bush around Africa during his trip last week, Tenet assumed responsibility Friday for not insisting that the statement be removed. "These 16 words should never have been included in the text written for the president," Tenet said.

Rumsfeld said it's time to put the furor over Tenet to rest and called the CIA director "an enormously talented public servant."

I agree with your comments on Fox. Is it just me, or are they becoming more CNN-like as time passes? They not only give a lot more time to lefties these days, but the hosts and anchors are sounding more like CNN/ABC/CBS/NBC/PBS than ever.

I sure hope the Wizard is right. I'd like nothing better than to see the dems twisting slowly in the wind on this one. And, I can believe it could happen as Wizard outlines it. I just hope it DOES happen that way. The Dems are meaner than junkyard dogs, and having put their version of the story out there, I worry that many will buy it--must have been a democrat who said, If you tell a lie often enough, it's accepted as the truth. I guess that's what worries me about this fiasco.

I don't think it's just you - Fox does sound more like CNN these days. I've written them a few times with specific examples and complaints but we need a massive write-in campaign for it to do any good and change things over there.

I'm starting to worry that they saw a need for balanced television, filled that need, got the viewers and now will resort to typical journalism - left leaning agenda filled news.

Gen. McInerny, Fox's general, who just returned from a visit to the middle east, claimed that the government has extensive WMD evidence, and that it will be revealed in the future, but that the Bush administration now is double-checking all evidence, even that they were sure of.

He was confident that the critics would have MAJOR egg on their face from the WMD stuff.

Warner also repeated this yesterday during an interview on Fox News. He was pressed to release more information but he said that it would jeopardize the investigation.

Send your comments/complaints to Brit Hume as News dept. head: special@foxnews.com

Mr. Hume: Again I find it necessary to contact you as news dept. head and ask why FoxNews lately is sounding and looking more like CNN? I was so disgusted Sun. morning by FoxNews repeating the lies of the left media about "Bush lied", that I turned off my TV. FoxNews was the one shining light in the mud of national media spinning DNC lies -- why the change recently?

"Maybe we all need to start praying."

Yes, we should--to counteract all the liberal preying.

"US blacks don't care about Africa."

Guess you missed (Liberal) Stanley Crouch's column this week in which he PRAISED Bush and in fact told blacks that maybe it's time they get off the plantation and start looking at the GOP. It was an amazing column, and not the first from him.

I agree there are people who, if Bush walked on water, would say, "Bush can't swim." But these people are about 20% of the population, and do not constitute the large majority of "undecided" voters who will shrug this stuff off---most of them still have never even heard of it.

I doubt it. Based upon past observations, the media will sweep this "over the rug," as Al Sharpton would say.

Brand new Wal-mart Super Store opening in Dayton with plenty of jobs---and not all just minimum-wage things, either.

On the other hand, the Centennial of Flight hoopla was a disaster (typically, Dayton planned for about twice as many people coming sa did) and thus a lot of vendors did not do as well as they were promised by the City.

Just wrote to that email addy. Thank you. And--I watched a portion of "The Beltway Boys" yesterday afternoon, and was equally disgusted by both of them. This liberal virus seems to have pervaded the entire roster.

Peach: I think your theory might be correct--or it could be that they're trying to seem "more balanced" after all the criticism they've received from the left, and have overcompensated. I never thought they were too far right to begin with, but then, I'm biased. Now, they've moved in several obviously lefty hosts (Greta, Geraldo, etc.) and commentators, and the entire channel seems to be following their lead.
