It's Birdwatching time again in Bethlehem, PA.
Philadelphia Eagles rookies and selected veterans will report to training camp at Lehigh University Friday and hit the practice fields Saturday and Sunday for workouts at 10:30 a.m. and 3:05 p.m. each day, according to a schedule released by the team Monday.
The remainder of the Eagles will arrive in camp next Monday and the entire preseason roster will begin two-a-day workouts on July 30. Those practices, which are open to the public, are scheduled for 8:45 a.m. and 2:15 or 2:45 p.m. each day the Eagles are at Lehigh University and not traveling to or from preseason exhibition games.
Daily autograph sessions are scheduled for after the morning practices.
Aug. 2 and 5 figure to be the most popular days because quarterback Donovan McNabb is scheduled to sign those days.

You Iggle fans going to take that (smiling as I stir the pot).
Also, according to league stats, the Eagles are consistently millions under the cap.
No, each November they resign several young veteran players and spend all the way up to the cap.
Since '99, aside from the extremely high picks, how many good players have Snyder and company mined out of the draft?-O_E
Your claim that the Skins have drafted poorly is bogus.-HenryLeeII
You make my point here though. Every player you named was either a first or second round pick. Going back through the drafts since Snyder took over, I don't see the names of any players that contribute from the third round or day two. As far as Kenny Watson, he's a nice find for an UDFA, but he made his hay against two of the worst Rush defending teams in the NFL- Houston (28th) and Seattle (32nd) (his only two 100 yard games). I can't say that he's one of the better young backs in the league.
Teams are seldom built through F.A. signings, and rarely through high profile signings. They're built though shrewd drafting and player development. Until Snyder realizes this, the Redskins will continue to disappoint year after year.

No one is taking the bait. Guess it is still a bit early.

I really prefer to watch the Eagles on television. I'll eat my hoagies in front of the set. That is great news about your daughters. I hope--hey, I'm sure they will be very happy.
The Redskins will be lucky to win 7 games this year. Snyder, Spurrier & Co. don't have an attention span of more than about 4 games. One day they'll mature enough to be somewhat dangerous...
I'm sure the Skins all had a perfect view of the game, courtesy of Fox Sports. Or perhaps they were golfing and missed it?
The road in the NFC will still go through TB, but stars sure seem to be aligned for the G-MEN this year. Glaring (and exploited) weak link Sehorn is gone. Special teams FINALLY revamped. Keith Hamilton reportedly OK, and Fassell RAVING about rookie DLs in spring camp (Miami Hurricane William Joseph and Osi Umenyiora (sp?)).
Their offense was something else last December, and that was with only ONE wide receiver (Hilliard, Dixon, Carter were out, they literally never threw to replacement guy Daryl Jones). Teams had NO solution to Shockey, Barber and Toomer, and now Hilliard is BACK. Throw Dorsey Levens in the mix, and is it possible the Giants could be the #1 offense in the NFL????
GO BIG BLUE!!!!
Hey Hey Tampa Bay! Go Bucs!
We got Philly first game of the season, I think. What a way to start the season!
I think its because they see the BIG BLUE writing on the wall :-)
You obviously cut-and-paste some website's list of the Redskins free agent signings for the past few years without reading it. Bruce Smith, Larry Centers, Daryl Gardner, Andy Heck, and others were all productive signings for us. Santana Dotson was injured in training camp before he ever had a chance to play. The former University of Florida players (Anthony, Matthews, Wuerffel, etc.) were signed because they were "cheap and available" and were familiar with Coach Spurrier's philosophy and terminology. Our draft picks have been as solid as most teams if you would bother to look at them. And no, Super Bowls are not won by player development anymore, the way it was done before the free agency era. Teams are relying on rookies and second-year guy to come in and contribute immediately, in addition to re-stocking and re-tooling with free agents.

If the signings have been so good, why are the Redskins 0-1 in the playoffs in the four seasons under Snyder's reign? Actually, we are 1-1 in that period, with the same number of Super Bowl championships as the Beagles.
Darryl Gardner's 4 sacks hardly constitutes a Pro Bowl Caliber season. Gardner was brought in for his run-stopping ability. Critics that I have read on cnnsi.com, espn.com, etc., praised his play. Also, the Redskins' defense has finished in the league's top ten each of the past three seasons (despite having a different coordinator each year), leading the team to the same number of Super Bowl championships as the Beagles in that period.
Andy Heck was the definite weak spot on the line his last two years and is a sterling example of paying on past performance. 11 years into his career, his prime was 1993-5. He didn't retire after the 2000 season because he was still a productive player. Heck was released by the Redskins because of injury, as I've stated before. If you had seen any of the games you would know that he was a steady performer, definitely not a weak spot (you are the first person, probably ever, to make that assertion), and helped lead the Redskins to the same number of Super Bowl championships as the Beagles during his tenure with the team.
Bruce Smith was a dominant pass rusher from '89 to '97, but look at his sack totals since he's been with the 'Skins- 10, 5, 7. That's worth 5-6 Million a year??? First of all, not many defensive ends are at their prime at age 38 or 40. However, he is still productive, and is not making $5M-$6M per season as you assert, because he has willingly accepted a pay-cut in order to help the team (just like Darrell Green did two seasons ago). Bruce asserts pressure on the QB, still draws a double-team, and has been instrumental in leading the glorious warriors in Burgundy & Gold to as many Super Bowl championships as the Beagles during his tenure.
Face it, your owner is a laughing stock, and your defense of him is pitiful. No, Owl-Eagle, the owner of the Redskins has been drawing begrudging respect from the New York-dominated media (Dr. Z, Don Banks, Peter King, etc.), and my defense of him is based on the fact that he is as passionate in his love for the team as I and all Redskins fans are. You see, we don't need to have a winning season to get fans into our stadium; the Redskins' home games have been sold out since the Johnson administration (we hold the record for most consecutive sell outs), and we don't require a police station and jail cell in our facility. We come out and have a good time, rooting our beloved team onto three Super Bowl championships (three more than the Beagles posses), five NFC championships (four more than the Beagles have), and more division championships and playoff victories than the Beagles have ever garnered. The true laughingstock in this is the Philadelphia thugs who call themselves fans, assault Santa Claus, taunt opposing players lying on the ground with career-ending injuries, and don't even bother showing up in the lean years.
