U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld says the United States will release photographs of the bodies of Saddam Hussein's sons Qusay and Uday to prove they are dead.

Mr. Rumsfeld gave no timeframe for the release, but said Wednesday the photographs would soon be made available.

Earlier Wednesday, the top U.S. ground commander in Iraq, General Ricardo Sanchez said four former Iraqi officials had identified Qusay and Uday's bodies. The two were killed in a Tuesday U.S. military operation in the city of Mosul.

General Sanchez also said dental records for Qusay were a perfect match, and they were a 90 percent match for Uday, whose teeth had been damaged. Both Hussein brothers inspired fear in Iraqis. Qusay headed the country's security apparatus and was considered Saddam's likely successor. Uday led the Fedayeen militia and was known for ordering the torture and killing of thousands of people.

General Sanchez also announced that U.S. forces have captured the former commander of Iraq's Special Republican Guard, Barzan Abd al-Ghafur Sulayman Majid.

Also Wednesday, an Arabic-language television station broadcast another audio tape purportedly recorded by Saddam Hussein. Al-Arabiya television says the tape was recorded on July 20th -- two days before the Mosul operation.

There was no immediate way to confirm the tape's authenticity.

Good! We couldn't do that in our country, but they need to do it there. They also need to take some officials from every town to view the bodys, so they can tell the people.

"Rumsfeld: Photographs of Qusay and Uday Will Be Released "

I think they should release the bodies to the new Iraq government and let them decide how to convince the masses that they are indeed gone.

A TOW missile streaks toward a building suspected of harboring Saddam Hussein's sons Qusay and Uday

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the graphic.
I understand the US/Coalition troops didn't know who was in the building, but I can't
help wondering if the TOW missle didn't have an inscription like "Knock, Knock!"

I heard that is why people still file past Lenin's tomb years after. To make sure for themselves that he is as advertised. Do they still have his waxy remains on display? Sorry, Muskovites, you know it's true.

I hope it's soon. The BULK of the Iraqi people will probably believe the photographs, especially if the results of the X-rays and dental record comparisons are included. The bodies are to be autopsied, but I hope the Pentagon doesn't wait long.

Remember two things 1: the media will never allow us to believe that even one Iraqi believes the two junior cockroaches are dead, and 2: the media will never allow us to believe the two non-dead cockroaches weren't the "victims" of a targeted assassination by the EEEEVEEEEEL Bush administration.

Some representatives of the media will not try to reconcile the contradiction. Others (like the BBC) will probably air documentaries stating that Uday and Qusay are really alive and this whole confirmation that they're dead was staged by the EEEEVEEEEEEL Bush administration.
