I don't really mind those damn telephone commercials. Then again, I am mildly amused just by watching the Home Shopping Network.

Right, he gave me the creeps before I knew he was a lefty activist.

He made me laugh a couple of times about 25 years ago when he did his "...me, Al Franken" bit on SNL. Also, his skits as the remote reporter carrying the dish on his head were kind of funny.
But, that was a long, long time ago. Now, he's just repulsive, hateful and deranged.

He's had some funny jokes. Actually when he occasionally tells a joke about a liberal it tends to be funny. He has this one about Al Gore that goes something like...
Al Gore decided to leave the stick up his ass in for a week at a time, instead of changing it out every day. This change is supposed to save an entire rain forest.

He's bad enough, he's dumb enough, and gosh darn it, people HATE him!

Robin Williams..... manic ravings passed off as humor. His brand of idiocy lost any attraction for me a long time ago.

Was funny from time to time, like Samauri, but was not consistent.
These were only my personal favorites. Many others did good work from time to time.
I don't even bother to watch the show any longer.

He was trying to be funny?

I remember the "editoral" bits on SNL, and (humor being somewhat subjective one viewer to the next), I don't remember anything funny...but then, I didn't see every show, maybe I missed the funny bits.

Franken was with SNL from 75-80 during their best years. What years are you talking about? I'm no fan of his politics, but when SNL was bad it was worse that one person could make it.

Honestly, he always looked like someone who should be funny. Really: he's really got that look that makes you think he's going to be funny....but then he speaks.I've never seen him say anything I found the least bit amusing. He's a bore.

Did anyone ever see the one where Franken and Davis "came out" on SNL? Do you remember who they had as the sponsor of the Franken and Davis show? It was the Communist Party, how appropriate.

Given the choice, I'd rather sit and watch a herd of Mimes than Al Franken. He'd like to think his "humor" is roll on the floor funny, but it's never risen above run of the mill "dopey".

My observation as well. I'm reminded of the Emperor's New Clothes and those who realize this humorists lack of talent for anything but being a viceral mean-spirited leftist, stand out clearly.

He did a great impersonation of Pat Robertson (when he was running for president) on an SNL skit. I think it was the same skit where Bob Dole was played by a special appearance by Dan Aykroyd. A couple of his other things on SNL have been funny too. He doesn't have a huge repertoire of funny stuff but he has a couple of things. However, he's not funny when he's on the shows talking politics--he comes across as mean and obnoxious.

The years Franken was on the show are the years the critics and fans said, "What happened, it isn't funny anymore." Everyone with a brain knows the best years were the Chase, Akroyd, Radner, Beloushi years....I don't know the exact time framd of Franken, but I do know that the show was almost canceled when the very unfunny boy was on there.
