Is It Just Me, Or Is Al Franken Really Not Funny

By now most know that Fox News is suing Al Franken for his use of the "Fair and Balanced" slogan. (stealing is nothing new for liberals). In light of this news, I have to wonder why liberals would think that Al should be their point man to counter so-called conservative media....I mean this is THE guy who almost, by his obnoxious untalented self, got Saturday Night Live canceled. Can ANYONE remember ONE funny line, ONE funny sketch, ONE witty comment by this sloth?

Is it just me, or is this guy just not funny, or witty, or particularly on target about anything in the universe.

No, it's not just you...I have never heard Franken say or do anything that seemed funny or clever.
To: Impeach the Boy
Not only you--IMO, he is not funny, but he is repulsive and offensive, just by standing there.

liberal "humor" really isn't funny to a person with a modicum of intelligence. It consists of attacks on a person's intelligence ("He's so stooopid"), looks ("He's a big fat idiot") and handicaps ("He's a cripple!") Imagine if there was a comedy writer who said such things about a dem? They'd probably be arrested for a hate crime and be banished from just about everything.
On another note maybe we could file a class action suit against mr franken for fraud- he claims to be a commedian.

He doesn't have to be funny because leftists have no sense of humor. In order to succeed in Liberal-land, all you have to do make snotty comments about a variety of conservative concepts like duty, honor, or morality, and then some sneering put-downs of prominent Republicans. You'll be the Belle of the Ball at any upper west side or Beverly Hills gathering.

You're absolutely spot on.
The only thing he's ever done that I laughed at was when he played the baggage handler in Trading Places.
He was terrible in his short standup routines on SNL, he was terrible as a "correspondent" of SNL's Weekend Update, his one recurring skit "Stuart" was absolutely unwatchable crap.
The bottom line is that he has a flat delivery and absolutely no sense of comic timing.

If a child on a crutch is funny, then Al Franken is hilarious.

The only really funny SNL people were: Ackroyd, Curtin, Morris, Radner, Murphy, Lovitz, Hartman and of course Fr Guido Sarducci.

Well, I used to love that "Take it from me ... Al Franken" bit he used to do on the SNL news way back when. Like the time when he explained how expenses associated with his appearances on TV were tax deductible so he starts showing off his wardrobe "See this tie ... its deductible" "See this picture of me and the family on vacation in the Carribean ... it's now ... deductible"
Like most "politically enlightened" entertainers they stopped being entertaining when they began spouting their views.

He almost got SNL canceled....You may be right that just because he throws cheap shots at conservatives he is able to be rewarded by liberal media types....there is no other explaination....I mean this guy has all the talent of a cabbage.
To: Impeach the Boy
I don't know. His "Rush Limbaugh Is A Big Fat Idiot" had one or two funny parts.

Al Franken had a part in one of my favorite movies, "Trading Places." I think it was an autobiographical role. He was one of the baggage handlers who put Clarence Beeks (in an ape costume) in the cage with the real ape. Franken looks and acts like a drooling mouth breather.

The baggage handler scene in TRADING PLACES must have been written by someone with some comic talent...left to Franken, the scene would have been edited out of the movie...I can still admire the talent of those who disagree with my political views...Babara Striesand is a great talent....Robin Williams IS funny...and so on....but Franken, I just don't understand how he has been able to make enough money in entertainment to afford to eat.
To: Impeach the Boy
Well, there was this one bit when he had a partner.
He said, "Usually comedy teams will have one straight man and one guy to play off him. We are a unique comedy team in that neither oine of us is actually funny!"
Years later, I realized he was not joking, he was confessing!

What about Chase and Farley?
To: The G Man
I never say ONE skit on SNL with Franken I could even muster a smile for...NOT ONE....and in fact, when reports of possible cancelation of the program began to circulate, Franken was even mentioned as not being funny and how the overall talent of the program had declined.
To: Impeach the Boy
Frankin only appeals to the far-left wackos these days. All you have to do is say Bush is an idiot and you are a genius to that crowd.
To: Impeach the Boy
Yesterday the papers described him as a "humorist" and I thought the same thing. He just sounds like a mean-spirited whiner to me.

Can you actually name one (or paraphrase)?
