Sen. Hillary Clinton is about to decide her presidential plans, says columnist and author Richard Reeves. The race for the Democrats' 2004 presidential nomination "has changed totally in the past few weeks," Reeves wrote Tuesday. "At the beginning of the summer, Hillary could comfortably deny having national presidential ambitions because the comfortable conventional wisdom was that it didn't really matter who the Democratic candidate would be, because President Bush had a lock on re-election. (I'm sure that the thought has never crossed her mind that it would be better for her if Bush won in 2004, leaving her a...

Hillary to decide after Labor Day whether to run for President in 2004? ^

Decisions, Decisions Respected writer and columnist Richard Reeves is reporting that Hillary Clinton will be deciding next weekend on whether to run for President in 2004: Hillary and her advisers, including her husband the ex-president, her money men and pollsters, will meet shortly after Labor Day -- Sept. 6, I hear -- to discuss whether or not she should go for it. It is a decision that has to be made earlier rather than later because of November and December filing deadlines for the early primary elections that will almost certainly (and very quickly) identify the 2004 Democratic nominee. What?!...

how on earth could the media and the people of New York allow her to get away with the bald faced lie that she would not, repeat "would not" run for president in 2004. When asked about 2008, she always answered less definitively. Lookie here:

Hillary Clinton rules out White House run in 2004

  "December 12, 2000

"WASHINGTON (CNN) -- First lady Hillary Rodham Clinton said Monday she won't be making any moves to grab back the keys to the White House -- at least not for the next six years.

In an appearance on CNN's "Larry King Live," she repeated her pledge to serve her full six-year term as the new senator from New York.

Clinton -- elected to the Senate with a solid victory over Republican Rep. Rick Lazio -- has been mentioned repeatedly as a possible Democratic presidential contender in four years. That possibility had been touted as particularly strong should Republican George W. Bush win the disputed presidential election over Vice President Al Gore.

Promised voters full term

On Monday, however, Clinton definitively ruled out a run for the White House in 2004.

"Let's say Gore loses. That means the Democratic Party has no incumbent. Are you interested in that office in '04?" King asked Clinton in an interview taped at the White House.

  "No, I'm not," she replied.

"Not at all?"

"No. I am intent upon being the best senator that I can be. That is what I want to do," Clinton said.

Clinton said she had promised New York voters she would serve out the full six-year term and that she intended to keep that vow. That was "as definitive as I can get....."

Does anyone know if Alex Baldwin still has those plane tickets he did not use to leave the country when Bush got elected? IF the Beast gets elected, I AM LEAVING THE COUNTRY!

I think this is speculation and do not believe she'll run.

Not that I believe anything Hillary says, but she is on record several times very recently (Larry King and 60 Minutes) adamantly stating that should would not run in '04.

My guess is that she's plotting a 2008 run.

Bush will crush her in '04.

Come to California! If Cruz Bustamante is elected in the recall election, we'll be part of Mexico by election day 2004.

My spouse just finished reading the book about TWA Flight 800, and how the government and liberal press covered it up. He was soooo surprised...always thought I was overreacting to the Clintons and their ways. He's also read 'Dereliction of Duty'...now he understands why I am so afraid of what will happen if she gets elected. Think it's impossible for her to become president? Combine the liberal press, a weak Republican congress, AND fraudulent voting...I personally think we've got a real problem in her.

In all seriousness, I don't know where I would go. But if this should come true, if she should collect the votes, it will be true that the country has left me. She is beyond dangerous to anything I believe in and I say this as more of a moderate than many here.

There's a group of FReepers all moving to TX. The state will then secede from the Union.

Netmilsdad, myself and the girls were promised a loft in exchange for dad networking all the computers of the FReepers together for our own Intranet.
