I like the 9mm S&W, but hey, point taken.

I do not mean to be rude, but...
Why on earth is there a flame war going on centered around threads on the weather?
Some things, I just don't get. How about giving it, and us, a rest?
Thanks, AM

I am interested in weather and certainly know more than miss honey (wonder if she and her grrrrll friends like that...lol), yet she acts like I am some sort of moron who doesn't know what I am talking about.
I would leave this thread if I didn't get the attitude.
And I did apologize for my first couple statements, which were very reactionary in nature, not reasonable.

OMG, you were talking about a metaphor... ooops. ya know, keyboards just don't make a good support for Barretts, and the CLP is hell on the monitor.

Please take my word on this folks...I said this over 3 hrs ago. If you or if you have family in the North Carolina and Virginia area's please have a tornado plan in effect. The media is playing silent on the tornado issue and is barely bringing this up. This has bothered me all day. The incoming speed of this storm...the gulfstream...the intensity...it hitting at high tide...and the atmospheric conditions surrounding Isabel are going to mean very bad news. Tornadoes all over the place.
The hurricane itself is one thing. Massive multiple landfalling tornadoes are another.

METRO and the Federal Government are both closed tomorrow. Ditto for most of the rest of the gov't around here... I just heard. And, I'm surprised at the closings: ~~ Metro, buses, MARC and the schools.
I guess they really want us to stay home ;^)

Is this thread unlocked yet? LOL!

fyi--an outer feeder band is over the Charlotte area. Doesn't necessarily mean anything--except that this storm is a big mother!

I guess they really want us to stay home ;^) It strikes me as a prudent decision. I was, however, amused by the reasons given for closing METRO: something about passengers getting blown off the platforms and lashed at bus stops. I'm sort of guessing that the real problem might turn out to be flooded tunnels...

Oh, I saw that one pass over earlier in the day. :-)
You should have seen the sky at dusk: red.

As of now, were only looking at 2-3 inches of rain and winds in the 40 knots range in my part of northern PA.
