They wish and only see his supposed "hypocrisy". The hypocrisy is on the Libertarian side, though, for Rush admitted today he is human, with human frailties, and that we try everyday of our lives to work our best to overcome those frailites. You hero-worshipping Rush-bots are living in Bizarro World.
Rush has long condemned drug users, calling them "maggot-infested" and saying they should be sent to prison for violating the law.
For at least six years of that time Rush has been eating powerful narcotics, often illegally obtained, like they were Skittles.
That is the grossest hypocrisy, but you are so blinded by Rush-love you just can't see it.
Why hasn't Rush had the same compassion for drug addicts that he now wishes for himself?

Rush has long condemned drug users, calling them "maggot-infested" and saying they should be sent to prison for violating the law. I have never heard Rush condemn drug users or say they should be sent to prison. Perhaps you have a source for this? A date and time he said it?

How does it feel to be perfect? I'm very tired of people who NEVER have a human frailty, or at least won't admit to it. Rush came forward today in the most public way that he could. I admire him for it, and pray for his recovery.

For at least six years of that time Rush has been eating powerful narcotics, often illegally obtained, like they were Skittles And today wacky tabackky. Rush had the courage to admit his problem to millions of people.
Not like your hero, Bill Clinton, who pointed his finger at me, with his co-President Hillary by his side and say,
"I did not have sex with that woman, Monica Lewinsky".

Link please.
I've listened to Rush for years and never heard him say these things.
In fact, as someone else wrote earlier in the thread, Rush has been an vocally against the prescription drug plan that would have tax payers paying for his drugs.

Your #701, Blunt, but to the point. Blackbird.

"Why hasn't Rush had the same compassion for drug addicts that he now wishes for himself?"
Presuming Rush recovers, attends meetings, etc. he will develop EMPATHY for others that are addicted.
George W. Bush seems to display such empathy.
If you are not addicted, you lack empathy for Rush, as Rush is today. I point out to you that his life for six years hass been under the influence of drug(s).
When he cleans up, he may not even want to be a radio talk guru. Stranger things have happened.

You're right, Rush in my mind is exactly what he called other junkies.

Because Rush is able to admit to his weakness and has a family of friends to provide support.
