It's blazing hot in Washington DC this time of year while the sun is still up, but the sun certainly does make our MOAB look good. The soldier works at WR and was going home and stopped to talk and say Thank You. Of course, we profusely thanked him in return. Having done this for almost three years myself, I've spoken with many of the troops and one thing that's always struck me is that they want to thank us - while our intention is to thank them. Honor Roll of Attendees Our regulars tonight were your author Tom the...

Gathering of Eagles has posted an Eagles Up Alert. Friday, AUGUST 1 and Saturday, August 2,2008, the moonbats are planning mass demonstrations against the possibility of America taking military action against Iran. Check out the Stop War on Iran Schedule for planned demonstrations. While GoE is taking the lead on this, FreeRepublic.com can do our part in helping GoE in countering this ridiculous protest. Log onto GoE and email your State Coordinator to see what is planned. Local D.C. Activities: MARYLAND: August 1 activity: Rally 5 PM to 6 PM Friday Aug 1 Washington Monument, Center St and Charles St...

Just wanted to point out the dueling rallies at High & Market streets, West Chester, PA. On one side of the street, patriots thanking the troops and supporting our president. On the other side, peaceniks (mostly wrinkled hippies), crying about the Iraq war. Motorist support seemed to be decidedly in favor of the pro-america rally, but not exclusively. Complicating matters were the kids running in and out of stop and go traffic to collect money for a basketball team while their idiot parents condoned the behavior.

Several people have been coming regularly to counter the vigil by Code Pink leftists in Orange County California. Some of them are part of the Patriot Guard organization. The Code Pinks come on Wednesdays at 5:30 PM. The vigil is at the Orange Circle, Chapman and Glassell, in the city of Orange California.

Last time we were in Westminster a passerby couldn’t let the moonbats go unopposed. He had driven by on one of his rare Saturday’s off from work and was disgusted at the moonbats’ signs. He went home, wrote out a quick sign and came to protest the protesters. (BELOW) is the result. Apparently the moonbats believe that only they do not have to obey the laws. They were so upset over the “Clueless Morons” sign that they complained to the Westminster police. I can hear them whining now, “They they they werrrr on ourrrr side botherrrring us”. An officer showed...

LoRo, Greg, Matthew, TomTheRedHunter Lurker Bill, PleaDeal, Chris, and VAFlagWaver LoRo, a Freeper, has been very busy working as an intern for the Heritage Foundation. She was able to join us on a fairly regular basis last summer. A few weeks ago she did a little recon and saw that we were still out here keeping Code Pink pushed down the street away from the gate. So she sent out an email to all her associates and friends at Heritage and asked if anyone wanted to join her at Walter Reed on the 11th. We were fortunate that she...

The roll call of our 12 Patriots included Legionnaires Glenn (WWII - USMC), Dave (WWII - Army), Dennis (Korea - Army), Halsey (Korea - USMC), Frank (Korea - Army), Lurker Bill with daughter and grandson, Cindy_True_Supporter, Gavin, Sensei Ern, {Mrs} Trooprally, aka [Mrs] T, and myself, [Mr] T. Pics by [Mrs] T The nine moonbats that showed up this week once again received almost no honks as the stood and sat, holding their signs belittling our soldiers tremendous efforts. Research by Harvard shows a correlation between active anti-troop protest and attacks on our troops. ”We find that in periods immediately...

Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops. James 5:17,18

On one side of Bragg Boulevard on Wednesday, American flags whipped in the wind, from toothpicks, from veteran’s hands, from the top of a pole attached to a pickup. On the other, American flags were being dragged on the ground. On one side, Army wives, veterans and bikers held signs that read "I Love My Soldier," "Our Husbands, Our Heroes," and "God Loves The World."On the other, four members of Westboro Baptist Church — including a 22-year-old woman and 7-year-old boy — held signs that read “God is Your Enemy” and "America is Doomed." The child’s read: "God Hates the U.S.A."The two...

Code Pink was sickly sweet in our presence on Wednesday night, trying to look good in front of their pot luck dinner attendees. We were offered ice cream cones, soda, beer and to participate in their pot luck dinner. All declined since we didn’t have the antidote to strychnine or a shower was not close by. In the Politico article Some on left target McCain's war record, “Suzzie” Medea Benjamin was quoted as saying: "I wouldn't characterize anybody who fought in Vietnam as a war hero," said Medea Benjamin, a co-founder of the theatrical anti-war group Code Pink. "In...

We just got back from the Heller rally in downtown Chicago and let me say these are some happy people. I’d estimate the crowd at between 200-300 (and I suck at estimating crowds!) Folks of every size, shape, color and religion were jubilant with the recent Heller decision and looking forward to being able to carry a handgun as a law abiding citizen of Chicago. Here are some photos… The crowd! The NRA folks were disappointed at the turn out, all I can say is for Chicago, on a Friday afternoon a crowd of this size was damn near miraculous!...

MoveOn.org tried to stage one of their pitiful made-for-the-evening-news events here in Rochester. Their goal? Blame Bush, McCain and the GOP for high gas prices. The Olmsted County GOP caught wind of it and within 48 hours staged one of the most fun coups ever. MoveOn activist Lyle (didn't catch the last name) was befuddled by the strong GOP counter-protest for drilling domestic oil. On the KTTC six o'clock news broadcast he could do no more than stutter when asked if he knew that there was going to be a counterpoint to his protest. He did manage to claim that...

…let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Who read Free Republic? Apparently the U.S. Secret Service does! This past weekend, I posted an article alerting the Secret Service that members of the terrorist supporting group Code Pink were using fake presses to gain access to events headlined by Secret Service protectees like presumptive Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain (AZ).This morning, McCain spoke at the LULAC convention in Washington, D.C. Usually when he speaks at an event in D.C., McCain can expect to have his speech disrupted by Code Pink activists who rush the stage and heckle him from the audience and the press section. That didn't happen today....

WOW and DOUBLE WOW is the only way I can describe the Patriotic Americans that attended the Walter Reed and Olney FReeps. It’s Saturday afternoon as I started this combined AAR and my heart still pounds with pride over all those who came out, especially to Walter Reed on the evening of the Fourth. Since I’m honored this week to write the Walter Reed AAR and usually write the Olney AAR, I had to combine the two because of their similarities. Several weeks ago a question as to who will be at Walter Reed came up. About 4 or 5...

The D.C. Chapter of FreeRepublic.com invites all Freepers and lurkers in good standing, as well as veterans and their families, to join us as we stand with our FRiends the Gathering of Eagles and Band of Mothers against the pro-terrorist group Code Pink this Wednesday evening in Washington, D.C.Code Pink leader Medea Benjamin attacked Vietnam veterans last week in an interview with the Politico published last week:"I wouldn't characterize anybody who fought in Vietnam as a war hero," said Medea Benjamin, a co-founder of the theatrical anti-war group Code Pink. "In 23 bombing sorties, there must have been civilians that...

The weather was a little cooler for this day's two man FReep but the action was still hot. Kelly and I received many honks, waves, and thumbs up. The moonbats had to settle with far fewer honks for their side. Despite what the polls and the drive-by media say, it seems the support for our troops and their mission is pretty good based on the positive responses we get. And this is from a blue state run by socialists. Along with the honks and waves, we got a couple of nice comments from people walking by. A lady stopped and...

No Dirty Dozen this week but a dozen of clean shaven gents and wise lady Patriots were in Olney today. For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body. The Trooprally's drive in heavy rain on the way to WR In a few weeks PrezUSA222 (Chad) will no longer be able to stand with us at Walter Reed on Friday nights. He's got new responsibilities. Responsibilities that will require 12 weeks of basic training, several months on job training, and then a probable tour in Free Iraq. Chad answered the call. He's in the Army now. We presented him with a plaque of a photo montage of most of the troop support signs we've used over the years. The montage is an original creation by iMacMan. After I...

PRICELESS!!! It was a hot and humid day with a passing shower. After dealing with the dilapidated umbrella that I gave [Mr] Trooprally for our 1st Rain FReep , he gave us big umbrellas just in case! The shower was quick and luckily not enough to even break out the umbrellas. It was, however, enough to get a rain drop on [Mrs] Trooprally's camera lens at one point. So, when you see a little spot in the middle of a few pictures, you will know the reason! Great pics courtesy of [Mrs] T. What a day full of surprises...

The Obama freaks, antiwar moonbats, and antiwar traitors are going to march on the RNC on September 1st. We can't let the Moonbats get all of the media coverage, so we know what needs to be done. From the Leftists: We can't let this go unopposed. Support the RNC and take away the moonbat's media coverage. Be there September 1st.

Today's FReep consisted of Mary Bell, Kelly, and me. Despite triple digit temperatures here in redlands we still had a great time and enjoyed seeing the moonbats spirits melt as we got many more honks than they did along with many waves and thumbs up. A man with his two young kids walking by stopped and talked with us a little. He was an Army veteran and he thanked us and said he appreciated what we were doing. Later a middle aged man stopped and thanked us. The moonbats had fewer numbers than usual this Friday and the ones that...

A few weeks ago we had a series of very powerful thunderstorms that sent trees tumbling all around the region. One was on the easement by the street just by where we put up the MOAB, and in typical Washington DC fashion the government hasn't gotten around to doing anything about it. If we'd have been out that night our MOAB would have gone the way of Dorothy's house. However, tonight was a nice evening so we got the MOAB up no problem, and soon the flags were flying behind it Honor Role of Attendees Your author Tom the Redhunter,...

After spending the winter in a warmer climate, 3DJoy in back in town for the summer. And she’s back in style. Just arriving last week, she was at Walter Reed, spent Friday night at the Olney Compound and was out at Olney, cheering for our brave troops. Then lunch at Dave’s Bistro. For those who know the place, they actually have a 6 page menu now. And the weather was almost perfect, just a little on the warm side in Olney. What a way to spend her first weekend in town. I meet up with FReeper T_Skoz and five other FReedom Fighters in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn in Portmouth, NH. The weather was rainy and overcast but the This is New Engalnd. The reason for the FReep was the "Card Check" bill that is up in the House. This bill would allow Unions to by pass an NRLB election on the basis of signed organizing Cards and negotiate with the employer as if an election had happened. Sounds Like Detroit On Election Day.. The real reason is that Che is a 100% Rat Political Hack and we want...

FROM EMAIL from Doug Lyvere, Eagles Up -- ...Code Pink is on the ropes. The Marines have been welcomed by the Chamber of Commerce. More people, civilian's and businesses, have started showing their support for Veteran's. Everyone's efforts have started to pay off. Everyone should be proud. So this time we're going to do it a little differently. Last time we designated Berkeley a "No spend zone". Some said this had zero impact. I disagree - we made a point and whether or not a negative financial impact was felt, we got a response. This time, I think we should...

I received this email from Bev Perlson, founder of Band of Mothers" and mother of a four tour soldier. Bev has been a regular in front of the Cannon Building over the last year or so, rain, shine, cold. She needs help. She is usually the only one out there trying to call attention to the DemoRats "cut 'n run" surrender tactics. Just several weeks ago Bev and RonGKirby, Eagle and FReeper, were harassed by Code Pink. The harassment was so bad that the Capitol police had to step in and move Code Pink out of her permitted area. Contact...

JUNE 13, FLAG DAY AND US ARMY BIRTHDAY WEEKENDThe Friday evening, before Flag Day and the United States Army’s 233rd Birthday, saw our enthusiasm high with a continuous stream of honks and waves from passing cars. No rain ( a change from the recurring Friday night showers this past spring), but a very warm and pleasant night with cooling breezes near dusk, and good camaraderie among the twenty-three FReepers and visitors.. We carried plenty of flags and signs announcing the 233rd Birthday of the United States Army. The moonbats were restless as June approaches its full moon and a code...

On Sunday, August 3, 3008, I am calling for a National Day of Prayer and Repentance. America has turned its back on God and I fear God has turned His face from us. Christians and Jews, we are the last "minority" it's safe to scorn and mock. No longer. It is time for us to reclaim our rightful Godly heritage and help return our nation to its ROOT, in the one, true God. Let us get on our knees on August 3, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern time (7:00 a.m. Pacific) - at the same moment across the nation -...

We had our 1st Rain FReep last week and now the first hot and humid FReep/Rally of summer. I began the FReep alone and then my mom-in-law was kind enough to join me. All In The Family (Tree) meaning my mom-in-law and I shared a tree for shade! Sorry, folks - not much to report and no pictures for this week but we were there to Support Our Troops. We received a good amount of beeps, waves and thumbs up. A lady walked by and said "God Bless You". A guy in a GoArmy.com car stopped to thank us...

The heeeat is on!! All right, no more cold wet FReeps for a while. Our cooler was loaded with ice cold water and sodas, our flags and banners were out, signs were held high, then a Montgomery County truck carrying recycle bins with a busted gas line font color = "blue">BELOW: broke down in front of Lurker Bill’s regular spot. We gave the truck passengers some soda and chatted with them until we left. The gas evaporated quickly in the heat and was not a danger. Not sure if the County will acquire carbon offsets for the fumes it released....

FRIDAY EVENING, WALTER REED FRONT GATE:A sultry evening, hot and humid, typical Washington summer weather, albeit earlier then usual. But we had plenty of ice-cold water and sodas to help combat the heat. It did cool off at dusk and no one wilted. As we were setting up, VictoryNY, with only a sign, began to capture the attention of drivers and passengers. Throughout the evening we had positive participation on all four corners. RonGKirby didn’t disappoint as he continued to bring a relevant sign for the day. Tonight, of course, his message was to thank the WW II soldiers for...

There's no such thing as an "average" Friday evening at the main entrance of Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Sometimes it's the weather; freezing cold, hot and humid, or thunderstorms. Other times we get to meet FReepers from all around the country who are in town for the week, or some who even come in specifically to join us. Troops from every type of unit, and who have served in every theater come by and speak with us. Family members, some Gold Star parents, join us occasionally. This night was no different in that it was different. The first order...
