I thought that traditionally, Calvinists didn’t celebrate Christmas. Learn something new every day.

Hence we cannot approve of the rigid judgment of those who charge such churches with idolatry (in which those days are still kept, the names of the saints being retained), since they agree with us in doctrine concerning the worship of God alone and detest the idolatry of the papists (p. 104).

I believe this disqualifies the Caucus protection of this thread.

Hark! The herald angels sing,
“Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild,
God and sinners reconciled.”
Joyful, all ye nations rise,
Join the triumph of the skies.
With the angelic host proclaim,
“Christ is born in Bethlehem!”

Christ by highest heaven adored;
Christ the everlasting Lord!
Late in time behold Him come,
Offspring of a Virgin’s womb.
Veiled in flesh, the Godhead see.
Hail the incarnate Deity.
Pleased as man with man to dwell,
Jesus, our Emmanuel!

Hark! The herald angels sing,
“Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild,
God and sinners reconciled.”
Joyful, all ye nations rise,
Join the triumph of the skies.
With the angelic host proclaim,
“Christ is born in Bethlehem!”

Hail the heaven-born Prince of Peace!
Hail the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings,
Ris’n with healing in His wings.
Mild He lays His glory by,
Born that man no more may die.
Born to raise the sons of earth;
Born to give them second birth.

Hark! The herald angels sing,
“Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild,
God and sinners reconciled.”
Joyful, all ye nations rise,
Join the triumph of the skies.
With the angelic host proclaim,
“Christ is born in Bethlehem!”

Charles Wesley,

Merry Christmas to all!

Christmas comes from the Roman Catholic Church.

That is a true statement as Christmas does not come the Holy Word of Elohim.

Presbyterians acting like Anglicans.

In fact, many Puritans wanted marriage to be an entirely civil affair with no ecclesiastical involvement. After all, the Bible does not tell us to get married by a pastor as a worship service. It is obviously, then, an evil human tradition.

Can anyone who truly subscribes to the regulative principle explain where a minister of the gospel is empowered by Christ to perform wedding ceremonies, esp. in a "worship service"?
