And again, tobacco is not for the body, neither for the belly, and is not good for man, but is an herb for bruises and all sick cattle, to be used with judgment and skill.

Has any Mormon ever used tobacco on their bruises or to treat their sick cattle??

Since it is supposed to be used with judgment and skill, one would think that this would be a vocation for some enterprising Mormon. Unless, perhaps this is yet another false prophecy.

7 And, again, strong drinks are not for the belly, but for the washing of your bodies.

That inasmuch as any man drinketh wine or strong drink among you, behold it is not good, neither meet in the sight of your Father, only in assembling yourselves together to offer up your sacraments before him.

Looks like the whole LDS Church does not keep the Word of Wisdom, since they don't use wine in their sacraments. Heck, they don't even use grape juice. They use WATER!

God tells them to use wine in their sacraments and they use water. God tells them to use beer in their shampoo to treat their sick cattle with tobacco and they don't do it. But God forbid they should drink a cup of coffee.

There was a big fight on another thread about water V wine/grape juice...

the reason given at the time was that anything could be used...

Thanks. Wiki says they vacillated back and forth until in 1912 the official doctrine became “water”. (paraphrasing)

Ask them. I think they decided to ignore the Word of Wisdom and drop the wine from their sacrament menu and since they didn't have refrigerators in the mid 1800's to keep the grape juices from fermenting, they used water. There is plenty of water around Salt Lake City and grapes don't grow too well there.

I distinctly remember they always used Weber's Bread and removed the crust. FWIW, Webers bread contains leaven.

Now you KNOW words that are printed do NOT mean 'exactly' what they seem they ought!

We Mormons have a SPECIAL dictionary that we use internally.

"...and the poster got a week off."

Actually, the poster took two weeks off, on his own terms, and continues to do so on a regular basis in the interest of avoiding trifles. And said poster still does, for the same reason. A once-useful forum has been irreparably trivialized by pride and self-importance.

The contention that "Jim Robinson and the moderators by implication were accused of being jihadist anti-Mormons on the Religion Forum was not "by implication" -- and the "week off," moot though it was, merely proved the poster's point concerning intolerance, etc. Such was duly noted by many....

The Mormon's have a term to describe this disorder.

The News Forum is not as strict on not "making it personal."

However, Jim Robinson and the moderators by implication were accused of being jihadist anti-Mormons on the Religion Forum - and the poster got a week off.

Your post however will be removed because this is the Religion Forum and "making it personal" is not tolerated here.
