Attributing motives and reading minds is “making it personal” which is not tolerable in religious debate.
Sorry, I will refrain from doing so in the future.
They do however the same to me by saying my questions are because I am a Mormon or a member of a cult group.
These attacks feel personal to me.
A poster may say "I think you are x" and that is not making it personal because he is not reading your mind but revealing his own. Likewise, if he says "You are x" that is not making it personal because he is speaking his own mind, not yours.
If he is in error, responding "Not so" or "Untrue" or "That statement is false" is not making it personal. But responding "you are a liar" would be making it personal because the word "lie" means there was an intent to deceive.
I can and do intervene to keep posters from "making it personal" but there is nothing I can do to keep posters from "taking it personally."
As poster of this thread I do not want to see any "personal attacks" on any of the posters here.
As I stated at the beginning of the thread I wanted everyone to "Keep it Civil".
If you feel that I have somehow personally attacked you, I would request that you point out that post.
If you feel you have been personally attacked by any of the other posters, then I will use my influence to try to stop it. Apparently you believe that I am somehow the "Leader" of a cult of religious zealots*, so if that is the case, then they ought to follow my instructions.

*I suspect that you think that callling somone a leader of a cult of religious zealots is NOT a personal attack. FWIW, I don't take it personally. :-)

I do not mean this as a personal attack, but you earlier admitted that you did not read the sermon.
Since you didn't read the sermon then how can you make an intelligent determination that what someone else is posting is an attempt to divert from the issues.
What, pray tell, in your mind are the issues?

I came across some of the posters on another thread.
I was accused of being in a cult, a member of LDS.
I assumed rightly or wrongly that these LDS posts were anti-Mitt or Anti-Mormon.
The attacks drew my glance to another area.
And when I asked a question I was attacked with statements implying I am a member of the LDS cult.
So, the attackers made me the issue as to why I would even ask a question.
Just look at a recent post on the thread, bassically saying anything you ask or any answer given makes you a member of LDS.
