Funny, not one Mormon would like to comment on the words of their prophet.

Right after I first read this sermon (when I was a Senior in High School), I was suddenly no longer a Mormon.
Why I declare, it sounds to me as if the Lord, through his Prophet, thinks the English are wicked.

Why do God and the angels speak in archaic English?
From the sermon, “When our father Adam came into the garden of Eden, he came into it with a celestial body, and brought Eve, one of his wives, with him. He helped to make and organize this world. He is MICHAEL, the Archangel, the ANCIENT OF DAYS! about whom holy men have written and spoken-He is our FATHER andour GOD, and the only God with whom WE have to do.”
And this is based upon what?
Brigham Young was a Prophet.

When I was a young Mormon, we used to stand up in church once a month and give our testimonies. Before I read this sermon as a Senior in High School I would often stand up in Church and recite something like this:
"I know that the Book of Mormon is True. I know that the LDS church is the only true church on the earth. I know that Joseph Smith was a True Prophet of God. I know that Brigham Young was a True Prophet of God. I know that David O Mckay is God's living Prophet upon the earth."
Right after I read this sermon, I was no longer able to say such things.
This is a powerful sermon.
It changed my life.
“Since some people have been accused of quoting Mormon prophets and apostles out of context, I think it is important that whole sermons preached by these men be posted.”
Since the only thing people appear to be allowed to post is the Mormon side of things, I believe you are right. Fortunately, those whole sermons speak for themselves.

Unfortunately, quoting people who were there first hand now seems impermissible because the truth is embarassing and is therefore “bashing”. Once you start down this path though, where do you stop? If one is a basher for pointing out that philosophies pulled out of a hat by looking through a peepstonew are highly suspect to the point of being ludicrous, what logic could ever prevail?
If I believe 2 + 2 = 5 because it was handed down to me by a dead Jewish Indian on Golden Tablets, should I be allowed to design a jet airline? Apparently that is the slope we are on.
