My cousin Kevin and his wife Lane are experiencing simultaneous major medical problems. Lane has been caring for Kevin since one of his kidneys failed this spring, his condition has worsened and he has been diagnosed with a form of leukemia (Myelodysplasia with refractory anemia with excess blast) and now Lane has been diagnosed with colon cancer. Please keep them both in your prayers as they struggle under this double burden. My cousin Cathy is on her way to help and could use prayers for strength also.
Oh, goodness. Prayers for both. Keep us posted, please.

...the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
Prayers Up.
Well...tell them to hang in there. My family is double-hit as well with my son and I. And we know another family through a support group where the mom and son both are battling.
This is the time to lean on the rock of Christ and read the Bible every day. God promises his children eternal joy and healing in the world to come. And in the dark moments we must try to remember that all that we experience here will be small compared to what awaits.
If they haven’t done so yet, I recommend they create a caringbridge website — at www.caringbridge.org — this is a way to keep family and friends up to date. But is has been an amazing source of blessing in our lives as we meet others who are ill and join a mutual prayer circle.
Prayers for your relatives...
Is it rare to have two family members with cancer? My first thought is an environmental condition.
My prayers to both of you.
Prayers on the way!
HEALING CONFESSION
Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Living Word. You said that Your Word is Life to those who find it and medicine to all their flesh. Today, by my confession, I apply Your Word to our body by giving voice to it. You said in Psalm 139:14 that we are fearfully and wonderfully made and that Your works are marvelous. I declare that You made us and we are a marvelous creation.
I speak to sickness and disease today and proclaim that according to Philippians 2:10 that they must bow down to the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Every name in Heaven, on earth, and under the earth bows its knee to Jesus’ name.
I speak to our body today and declare that we have authority over it. I command it to receive the Word of God. Matthew 8:17 proclaims that Jesus bore our sickness and took our infirmities. Heavenly Father, I thank you that the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in us and makes alive our mortal body.
I speak to our immune system and command it to line up with the Word of God. Our immune system will destroy sickness and disease in our body and perform its job, for this is what You created it to do. I thank you, Father, that every cell in our body responds to Your Word. Your Word permeates our body from the top of our head to the bottom of our feet. I confess that the Word of God is being made flesh in us. Psalm 103:3 declares that You, Father, forgave all our iniquities and healed all our diseases. Father, that is Your confession and I make it my confession, also. We don't judge by the sight of our eyes; we judge by Your Living Word. It is Your Word that lives in us and brings health and healing to every part of our body.
Heavenly Father, I rejoice at Your promise of divine health. You said it and I believe it. Today I declare that we will see Your promise of healing manifest in our body.
Healing is ours because Jesus paid the price two thousand years ago. God so loved us that He sent His Son to die on the cross so that we could experience life on God's terms. His abundant life is manifesting in us. Make us whole ~ body, soul, and spirit. Amen ...
Psalm 118:17-18 ~ “I shall not die, but I shall live, and recount the deeds of the Lord. The Lord has chastened me sorely, but he has not given me over to death.”
My prayers for this couple is that God will supplant their anguish with understanding, their hurt with love, and their fear with courage fostered on faith.
May the Lord Jesus Christ walk with them through this ordeal.
