I dont think there will be a rapture. Christians throughout time didnt get raputured as they were persecuted. Why should we? Jesus said there would be in Matthew 24. However, I agree that Christians probably won't escape without persecution or suffering. Note what it says in this passage particularly the bolded portion:
For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. 22 And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.
