I thought I specifically clarified that one (Ezekiel's war) didn't have anything to do with the other (Armageddon campaign). I'm sorry if I didn't; however, it was my sincerest attempt to do so. I agree that we should keep watching events closely, but remember, Jesus stated only the fool says that the Lord delays His return. Just in case we're all wrong, we would be smart to remember that no man knows the day nor the hour. I disagree that Ezekiel's prophecies don't match up to current events. I believe current events are the definate precursors to what Ezekiel foretold of.
What was it about the 1800's that so many false prophets got so many so lost
Count 'em up. A lot of stuff (with quirky eschatologies) came out around then. A log of it out of the upstate NY "Burned Over District". Millerites, Adventism, LDS, Jehovah's Witnesses.
Margret McDonaldI had never heard that!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Macdonald_(Prophecy). A pretty thin reed to hinge an end times theory on.
I know there are plenty of pre-tribs out there (including my family) who are in Christ so don't shoot me for saying they are all cult members.
Historic premils aren't such a problem.
Sorry, I'm not really trying to put any words in your mouth so to speak. I'm mainly replying more to the premise that Ezekiel 38 and the Gog and Magog prophecies apply to events today. The posted article is making this case.
Unless something drastically changes in Israel the following verses do not describe Israel today:
Eze 38:11 And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,
This can only apply to an Israel that has been at peace for a very long time. Say 1000 years.
Eze 38:8 After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.
Again nobody is dwelling in safety in Israel today. But they will during the millennium.
Add this information along with the fact that Gog and Magog are mentioned in Revelation 20 as coming against Israel after the millennium and I think it's pretty clear that trying to predict todays events based on these prophecies is not very wise.
In the end, the battle of Armegeddon, the entire world gathers in the valley of Megeddo, or the Jezreel Valley, led by the AC, against Israel.

There is no evidence in Church history of a pre-trib rapture teaching prior to the the 1830s.
And please don't blame God for such an abysmal idea.
Another self-serving date-suggester from the rapture ready crowd.
One obvious problem with the analysis is that the only mention of Gog and Magog on the NT is found at the close of the thousand years (Rev. 20). This should prove unsettling for a futurist Israel-centered theology.
Explain the allies of Israel. I've been of the thought that Israel was alone, with no defenders, and unable or unwilling to defend itself. That the invaders are utterly destroyed by God.
Other than my question, I like your response, how you differentiated between the 2 wars.
Would that synch with “More than Conquerers” by Hendrickson? I find more credibility in his exposition of Revelation than anything I have ever read. Still searching for the truth and have not consulted with any mediums, latter day prophets or gurus.
There is some questions regarding Josephus’ writings and that being one of the sections but, suffice it to say that Russia will probably be included considering their love for conquest.

There are no allies to Israel. There is only a coalition of nations (allies) that come against Israel. She will be totally alone, and God will utterly destroy her enemies save 1/6th of them.
But Babylon is not literally mentioned. Neither does the Bible ever use the term Babylon to refer to whatever government happened to be in charge of that plot of land in the Middle East, esp, modern Iraq. So you appear to be wrong on at least two counts.
Trying to shoehorn modern events into the Bible is a futile exercise.

Give it a read, it's not real long.
Do not know. Looking at the Amazon.com description, that looks like the Hendrickson book is something I should pick up, one of these days.
Try reading Jeremiah he has a whole lot to say about Babylon and events taking place.
Jeremiah he has a whole lot to say about Babylon and events taking place.
Please be specific. Jeremiah has a huge amount to say about Babylon, seeing as how God was very shortly to use Babylon to punish apostate Judah.
I’ve been up on Megiddo...
It’s high and the area down below is flat for miles...
The blood will come up to the horses’ bridles...
Thats a lot of blood...
We know what will happen for The Bible has all the future events...
There are many prophecies in the Old Testament that have already been fulfilled...
Messiah has been born and died for His people...
The desert has been blooming again for several years...
And the eagles have returned...
And God’s childen, Israel, have been gathered from the far corners of the world...
I am not afraid - I said I was scared. He tied it all to Russia and Iran, based on the Bible.
I have been ready for whatever may come - provisions, etc. I keep stuff in my van ‘just in case’, and have since 9/11.
I have. Jeremiah is, for the most part, about ancient Babylon. E.g.,
For thus says the Lord: 'Behold, I will make you a terror to yourself and to all your friends; and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and your eyes shall see it. I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall carry them captive to Babylon and slay them with the sword. (Jer. 20:4)Note words like swords and kings and think 586 BC. Nothing about modern Iraq.
If one did the math and tried to take that literally all the blood from all the men and horses in all the armies of the world would not produce that much blood.
