1 But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, "Peace and safety!" then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. The irony here is that the dispensational premil system is undermined by a careful comparison of Scripture with Scripture, i.e., 1 Thess 5: and:
9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, F10 not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. (2 Peter 3)According the Peter, the “day of the Lord” introduces the new heavens and new earth. This is the day that Christ returns to judge the world. There is no time period between 1 Thess. 5 and 2 Peter 3. The language is unambiguous. They are the same event.
The validity of the other (nonsensical) 50 points is completely undermined by a careful examination of the opening assertion and demonstration of how it fails to be true from the Bible alone.
