I clicked on the link and don't see anything in the verses that points me towards the Jews being gathered "in unbelief". Perhaps a different translation?

I’d have to check out the translations at Biblegateway.com.

However, I think he MAY be referring to other Scriptures which talk about Israel following the Anti-Christ until the AC sets up his image in the Holy of Holies.

THEN they realize they’ve been fooled and God makes HIMSELF real to them as they flee and are slaughtered by the thousands.

The author may be going by the sequential points of prophetic events still in the future during the Great Tribulation.

It is clear from the whole counsel of Scripture that the Israelites would return to the Holy Land NOT believers—certainly not in Christ but actually pretty apostate generally—doing their own thing etc.

Certainly that has been the case.
