He keeps setting dates because it’s working for him. As soon as it stops working he’ll stop too.
A false prophet Rev. Ike died today. Camping maybe next.
Sad. Mr. Camping didn't come off as all there anymore.
Watch out for May 21, 2011. This time Harold Camping says he’s gotten it right.
I’m going to ask him to give me all his property 6 months before that date. After all, he won’t need them anymore since he’s so sure.
As you properly posted this in the Religion forum, I’ll keep my opinions on how asinine this guy is to myself.
Camping is his own worst enemy.
He has failed so many times that his name is a synonym for feckless.
Harold Camping started going down this road years ago. Mid eighties he had one line where it was time to stop evangelizing, the role of the church was at that point just to keep believers from falling away. Believers were to have as little as possible in dealing with the outside world - an extreme version of what I call “bomb shelter Christianity”, where everyone is just huddled in their bomb shelter church, lest they be contaminated by the outside. He sounds like he is afraid to smile or laugh, it might be sinful (I knew some Christians that had that point of view, they also listened to a lot of Camping).

I was coming back from vacation last summer and I turned on the scan option of my stereo to just listen. A Christian talk show came up and I listened. The elderly host was commenting on these things and I felt uncomfortable in my spirit about them. The words false prophet came into my mind. When the station break came up it mentioned that it was Harold Camping.

He seemed sane for quite a while, but he has really gone off the deep end. Sadly, he is taking a lot of people with him.
Love your tagline ("Dispensationalists Say The Darndest Things!"). There's been at least one post defending Camping on another thread. I wonder if we'll get any technicolor commentary in defense of Harold Camping?

Iron Sharpens Iron had James White alone on (Harold Camping alone on Friday) yesterday talking about the Camping debate yesterday. I listened to it. Camping supporters were coming out of the woodwork.
