Now this article/talk that implies the man is dependent on the woman. I suspect that this article/talk is nothing more than an attempt to quantify the role of the woman so that she doesn't feel inferior in her current role. Building up her sense of worth so to speak.
The mere fact, that according to LdS teachings, she is to be subservient to her husband in all things "as long as the man is worthy" is indicative of the position mormon women really have within the LdS hierarchy.
Where once before(or actually currently?) the woman "was dependent" upon her mate to get her to the celestial kingdom, now they're saying that they're intertwined and the man cannot achieve the celestial kingdom without his woman.
Yes you would have to ask a woman a question like that ...
Woman are more righteous and sacred abd divine and smarter and destiny prone than men...
Ask President Thomasina Monson...
She’ll know...
:)
mormonism is sure confusing
one apostle/elder can’t figure out what the doctrine/teaching is from day to day.
what good is a ‘living’ prophet with all this chaos in teaching
I’ve been trying to scrape my eyebrows of the ceiling since I first read that “this is why women dont need the priesthood” thingy...
:)
I find it an interesting change as well. This is the same church that fought so hard against the ERA and ex-communicated those who vocally supported it.
LOL

Exactly, and then they complain about all the protestant denominations and tout “God is not a God of confusion”.
Well the LDS ‘god’ sure does get confused.
Because it is conducted by committee - just look at our congress ;P
lol.
now they’re saying that they’re intertwined and the man cannot achieve the celestial kingdom without his woman.

But that’s not what their earlier prophets said...
Heber C Kimball, a member of the First Presidency, had forty-five wives, but he claimed that in the resurrection he would be able to have thousands:
“Supposing that I have a wife or a dozen of them, and she should say, “You cannot be exalted without me,” and suppose they all should say so, what of that? ... Suppose that I lose the whole of them before I go into the spirit world, but that I have been a good, faithful man ... do you think I will be destitute there. No, the Lord says there are more there than there are here ... there are millions of them, ... we will go to brother Joseph and say, “Here we are brother Joseph; we are here ourselves are we not, with none of the property we possessed in our probationary state, not even the rings on our fingers?” He will say to us, “Come along, my boys, we will give you a good suit of clothes. Where are your wives?” “They are back yonder; they would not follow us.” “Never mind,” says Joseph, “Here are thousands, have all you want” (Journal of Discourses, vol. 4, p.209).
And libeled the women who asked about equality when the black men got the priesthood in 1978...
Sonja Johnson comes to mind.
You are a closed-minded anti-Mormon propagandist. Nothing more.
- - - - - - -
You engage in Ad hominum attacks rather than actually present a defense. Sure sign (of the nail) of a losing argument.
Who said I was arguing? I merely point out that people should look elsewhere than this Mormon bashing ground if they really want to know what Mormons believe without twisted interpretations and attacks.
Arguing with anti-Mormon propagandists such as the ones on this board is pointless. You have your minds made up and heads in the sand.
Once again I invite anyone that wants to know the truth to look elsewhere.
The copy/pastes I refer to are the old and tired arguments against the LDS church.
It’s from personal experience. I have proposed many of these arguments myself years ago and others I have since seen others propose on other boards.
It’s the same stuff. Over and over.
Then I actually bothered to try to find out the truth. No one did it for me just as I can’t do it for any of you.
Paragon: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/paragon
1. a model of excellence; pattern a paragon of virtue
2. (Communication Arts / Printing, Lithography & Bookbinding) a size of printer’s type, approximately equal to 20 point
vb (tr)
Archaic
a. to equal or surpass
b. to compare
c. to regard as a paragon
It’s pretty obvious what “paragons” are being defended here...Joe Smith, Brigham Young, Bruce McConkie...and on and on.
Yes they are/were true Paragons I am glad you agree.
My name comes from the online game City of Heroes though. Is there any other thing you would like to try to twist to attack the Mormon religion?
In this case it is the over whelming evidence that Mormonism is a false religion, it's “prophet” a successful con man and the BOM a work comprised of borrowed ideas, mythical places and a healthy dose of bible like phrasings and concepts.
The only way to truly sell it or defend it is to obfuscate it's beliefs in high sounding rhetoric and deceit along with claims of victim hood and denial as well as unsubstantiated claims of others not telling the "truth" and the requisite lack of actually proving it.
In turn this leads one to realize the only heads in the sand lie elsewhere, outside those who expose Mormonism for the farce that it is.
A demonstration of this fact has been made right here on the
Its from personal experience. I have proposed many of these arguments myself years ago and others I have since seen others propose on other boards.
This is what is called a non-answer PD. Can you face into the statement you made - and provide proof. Personal experience bla bla bla, doesn't cut it when you make the accusations.
Try to find the truth - Ok, where in the western hemisphere have the numerous cities listed in the bom been authentically found and recognized by non-mormons. Remember - TRUTH, not feelings.
Does God have a God and that God have a God, ad infinitum?
