Well I think it is more that catholics fall under the authority and control of Rome and the Pope. Because we also invite others to our churches...but I knew what you ment.,,though some may pounce not discerning this.
That obvious statement being made, his account is full of holes.
There is no Dominican foundation in Tallaght.
He claims to have been a Dominican, but he incorrectly identifies Dominicans as monks.
He claims that his thesis advisor invited him to plagiarize, apparently not realizing that the Angelicum requires candidates to defend their thesis through a lengthy verbal examination administered by multiple professors.
He claims that he was a Dominican but does not seem to realize that a Dominican would not be answerable to a diocesan ordinary as he claims, in the article, but to a provincial superior. All this is just for starters. None of it adds up.
I suppose laughing is all one can be done when she has no argument or rejoinder.
Here is another man who speaks to God daily; Ayatollah Khomeini...Apparently he's a member of your Catholic body of Christ as well...
Problem is this Catholic Priest who prayed to God daily admitted that he was NOT in contact with our Lord...But NOW, he is...
“They repeat the written words...They don’t know what it says... “
A sad calumny. A sad and SINFUL calumny at that.
Liars lie.
Apparently then, you never fell for the Protestant line to accept Jesus as your Savior...And then be baptized...
And the demons scream and wail when they lose one.

Because we have missals. Those are the books used at Mass. Worshiping God in the liturgy He originally created is not about reading scripture alone. It is always about worshiping God first and that means more than just reading or even praying the Bible.
The crud refers more to the means of presentation, though the content is often attached. Likely because this tradition is so long running that the means is tied to the content, and people generally don’t think up new ways to argue these things.
I’ve never witnessed a “win” in these bouts. It’s usually just argument that ends with people being frustrated and throwing up their hands. Others have hurt feelings or think their Catholic/Protestant opposition is just a bunch of morons.
I don’t even see that “stronghold coming down” on this thread. I see the same arguments that are made on the other threads, with the usual suspects making the usual claims.
Believe me, I know what you mean about being passionate for one’s beliefs. That’s why I chimed in with what I did. My beliefs often put me in opposition to both sides, even though it is not a position I strive for. Usually it’s the Catholics/Protestants deciding I’m in opposition.
And you are right. They bicker and debate within their own fellowships. I won’t criticize that, because that comes with my request to “get your own house in order” before turning on others.
I’m not going to say that people can’t be reached through argument on the internet. I just haven’t ever seen it, and I don’t think it’s likely.

ROTFLOL....Good one! ...and so true too!
Baptism is a cleansing act, to be sure. But it is also a promise and a commitment made by the one being Baptized.
The first time I sought Baptism things went awry. The pastor at the Methodist Church had a golf game come up, so my Baptism was postponed. I decided I didn’t want that man involved in such an important act.
Funny that I decided to be responsible about it instead of just diving in. I guess educating myself and exploring the facts and fallacies before committing my SOUL is unacceptable to some.
No it’s not true. The author is a liar and any reasonably intelligent Catholic can pick up a dozen inconsistencies without even trying.
Your ignorance knows no bounds.
I think every Catholic should know the following:
Richard Bennett REALLY was a Catholic priest.
I can not vouch for his story in toto - and I do not believe him to be an honest man - but there can be no doubt that he was a Catholic priest. Catholic Answers has admitted as much for YEARS. I am sure they checked him out to check his claims. If there was a hint that his whole story was a fraud, they would have said so.
Have there been frauds before? Yes. Alberto Rivera is the most obvious one. Bennett, however, really was a priest. Again, I am not saying he is not wrong. I am not saying he is completely honest. I believe he is both wrong and dishonest. I also believe that he was indeed a priest.
There are those who will attest they have seen “strongholds” come down...this mans testimony certainly attests to that happening. Maybe you leave the threads too soon. It's a wonderful thing when the differences are set aside and a general agreement is reached on what is common between the two folds. That's breathing room the Lord gives for both sides of the debates.
Lets not forget that the moderators make perfectly clear the open threads can have wailing and gnashing of teeth and not for the fainthearted. Thin skinned should not be there UNLESS, and I urge this, they want to learn how not to be.
These threads teach us to stand for the faith we believe in and this and I for one often have felt.. with the way the world is going... we all better have tougher hides because we are going to need it...like it or not.
Still working on figuring that one out.
And I never did get an answer to my questions about what was so objectionable about my posts on that thread that warranted me getting the boot.
While it is true that monasteries have often been repurposed for use by friars, no Dominican - no matter what building he lived in - would refer to himself as a monk.
Some disagree with you???
Dominikanski Samostan Campground (Dominican Monastery)
This campground east of town near the Dominican Monastery has limited space (70 sites) and is run by the monks. Exceptionally popular because of its location near the sea and its well-kept facilities, it is always full. However, if you are inclined to walk around in a state of skimpy dishabille, this is not the place for you. The site is posted with dress-code signs.
