Ever seen something like this? (Beck Rally)
Reformation Theology ^ | Rev. John Samson

Posted on 08/31/2010 6:35:43 PM PDT by Gamecock

Ever seen something like this?

Have you ever seen something like this in the Bible - God saying, "Go meet with the Baal worshippers' and arrange a huge rally, an ecumenical service - talk about honor and integrity and family values.. and you can pray to Me, of course, and they can pray to Baal - in fact, hold the priest of Baal's hand as he prays.. that will be such a nice touch.. and its quite ok with me.. I, the Lord your God, the holy One, really don't mind.. that's because it will show so much love to people and it will open hearts to My religion and everyone will so appreciate you not being closed minded elitist bigots. It will do wonders for people's view both of you and of Me. Go do this in My Name."?

Ever seen that? Even a hint of it? No? Me neither. - JS

Whitefield died in 1770; hence, he's not considered among the "founders." Anyway, at times Beck has absolutely lauded people like Whitefield and some of the founding fathers who were indeed Christian. On that May 14 show, Beck closed the show by saying: "You know, America, it's time to start talking about religion and time to start talking about the truth about all of these guys and if Jesus is involved, Jesus is involved."

Joseph Smith hated Whitfield and I am sure Glenn knows that..that was just a way of weaving in the topic he is interested in religion, his religion

This brings up an interesting possibility even Jim Robinson might consider: is Glenn Beck--whether unwittingly or on purpose--preparing the way for a rise in Romney stocks, as merely another of 'the conservatives who practice their religious beliefs as they see fit yet hold to the founder's principles?'

How funny I was thinking about that too... did he endorse Romney last time?

Absolutely not! Jim Robinson saw through the Romney facade and stamped him a pernicious rino. There was even a purge of romneybots here at FR.

That is what the Washington Post and others on the left are claiming. Beck is out to push mormon restorationism. He wants a Mormon theocracy. He just addressed the WAPO screed on his show. I don't get it. Its clear to me the message is ripped straight from the DOI. Its a call to a restoration of the virtues of the Revolutionary era. Its not the promotion of any particular religion. What Beck is doing terrifies the left because it undermines a hundred years of the left pushing relativism, pushing post-modernism, pushing gramscian socialism, of the left mocking those who know there is a truth higher than the state.

What terrifies me are the people on this thread....hey Obama was elected....we are already under God’s Judgment.

And you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

We conservatives are doomed because we can’t agree on much of anything anymore and there will be consequences.

The devil is in the midst of us and he knows exactly which buttons to push....look around.

Thanks for the ping. I didn’t read any of Beck’s speechifying the other day; I prefer to read than listen because it’s faster. ;-)

But I did see some quotes, and Mormon beliefs are indeed nonsense, and I have no problem with people believing nonsense. But if they are influenced by the nonsense to believe other things that are not so, or their beliefs make them blind or partial in a way that is harmful, that’s another thing.

And regarding Romney - puke!

Pingalingaling for your consideration.

No thanks, one mistake of participating in a party by gamecock and fellow hate-fest enthusiasts is enough for me...

I've never seen such a God awful perversion of the teachings of Christ. I'll probably have nightmares!

United we stand. divided we fall......and we certainly are and will.

Hello!

The Founding Fathers were sure not UNITED in THEIR understanding of GOD; and yet they managed to create this great Nation.

WHY do we have to be so 'united' to pull it back together?

Sacrilege indeed. They claim they don’t worship Smith, but things like this and a card I saw (that I am trying to get a copy of) that has a pic of smith that says ‘praise to the man’ and on the inside says ‘may you be blessed as you go out and proclaim his gospel’ (for leaving missionaries) is very obviously worship.

Click to hear the song...

Praise to the Man!

Praise to the man who communed with Jehovah!
Jesus annointed that Prophet and Seer.
Blessed to open the last dispensation,
Kings shall extol him, and nations revere.

Chorus
Hail to the Prophet, ascended to heaven!
Traitors and tyrants now fight him in vain.
Mingling with Gods, he can plan for his brethren;
Death cannot conquer the hero again.

Praise to his mem'ry, he died as a martyr;
Honored and blest be his ever great name!
Long shall his blood, which was shed by assasins,
Plead unto heav'n while the earth lauds his fame.

Chorus
Hail to the Prophet, ascended to heaven!
Traitors and tyrants now fight him in vain.
Mingling with Gods, he can plan for his brethren;
Death cannot conquer the hero again.

Great is his glory and endless his priesthood.
Ever and ever the keys he will hold.
Faithful and true he will enter his kingdom,
Crowned in the midst of the prophets of old.

Chorus
Hail to the Prophet, ascended to heaven!
Traitors and tyrants now fight him in vain.
Mingling with Gods, he can plan for his brethren;
Death cannot conquer the hero again.

Sacrifice brings forth the blessings of heaven;
Earth must atone for the blood of that man.
Wake up the world for the conflict of justice.
Millions shall know 'Brother Joseph' again.

Chorus
Hail to the Prophet, ascended to heaven!
Traitors and tyrants now fight him in vain.
Mingling with
Gods
, he can plan for his brethren;
Death cannot conquer the hero again.

Kerping ... some cannot see the corrosive nature of ecumenism ... and it may just be the way to open the door for the Mormon Romney to be ‘more acceptable’. If any religion is as good as any other so long as the founders are honored, how could Romney's Mormonism be a hindrance?

I agree and I do. But compromising religious principles under the guise of ‘conservatism’ furthers neither.

Souls are more important than politics. I WILL NEVER EVER EVER stand with a pagan and link arms nor will I ever accept his claim that he too is a ‘Christian’.

For the THIRD TIME I am asking you...how much of Mormon theology and vocabulary do you know? If you knew much you would know Beck is pimping his cult using terms that Christians use but mean different things by.

To temple Mormons (and Beck is one) THE MORMON CHURCH takes precedence over everything including this country. He took a vow upon pain of death to that effect. So he is either a liar or a covenant breaker. No thanks. Beck is not the ‘conservative Savior’ and time WILL prove me right.

You are so right...I sometimes read these posts just to see how deep the hate is toward Mormons. Mention Beck and the Mormon bashers come out of the wood work and make the thread about how non-christian Beck is....they can read his mind and know what he thinks.

In the end times, there will be but a remnant.

Is Beck a false prophet with a false doctrine?

Did God use Beck to call His people, the remnant, to come out of the Great Babylon?

The rally was a “sea of people and religions.” The sea is Satan’s purpose.

Is this divisiveness, now ensuing, actually the ‘calling out?’

So many don’t understand that in the end-times, Christians will be persecuted. Many will be killed for their faith in Jesus. Rev. 6:9, Rev. 11:7, Rev. 13:7, Rev. 14:12,

Who to listen too? Who to follow? Can we compromise here? Compromise there?

God is not coming to American politics.

Ignorance what the beliefs of these nice Mormons is the biggest problem. Our “All paths are valid politically correct Christianity” (which is the real reason we face the enemies we do) buys hook line and sinker the LDS PR.

Sad thing is there are indeed many good people in the LDS, sadder still there are many good Christians who love them so much they would rather stand by and leave them to their fate then “offend” them...

Seems hateful to me to let someone got to the devil without a fight, but what do I know, I am just a hateful bigot fighting the evil, and we know in the era of Oprah Christianity that's offensive.
