Agreed.
But it can't be both.
Just make up your mind what you are and tell people the truth.
Would it be too hard to say "I've quit the Catholic Church and now attend a pentecostal church"?
I attend a very conservative church and will not even belong to a church if the pastor is a Democrat because it shows me he doesn't get the big picture BUT that said, one of the most famous members of my denomination would NEVER have gotten my vote.
Catholics believe that a lapsed Catholic is still Catholic. Sounds like an internal matter to me.
Do you regret your vote now?
Not your district? Well then okay.
My son is studying to be an Angican Priest. He attends worship at a Catholic Church on Saturday evenings, works at his job at a Presbyterian Church on Sunday morning, hangs out with his Orthodox friends, and takes his sister to her penecostal church, and when he’s in town, goes with us to our non-dem Protestant church. He was raised Baptist.
Through it all, he loves and worships Jesus Christ, the centerpiece of all those Churches.
The truth about what he is??? He’s a Christian. Nuff said.
Aren't you the folks who say if your baptized a RC you are always a RC?
You said: Would it be too hard to say “I’ve quit the Catholic Church and now attend a pentecostal church”?
“Christ Fellowship is aligned doctrinally and cooperatively in missions locally, nationally, and globally with the Southern Baptist Convention.”
As is my church, southern BAPTIST.

Somewhere in the Gospel of Luke it addresses these behaviors. To paraphrase "if one can't be trusted with little things, they cannot be trusted in bigger things".
Americans are very cavalier about "truth";however,I believe that a lie or a failure to correct a "misunderstanding",no matter how trivial it may seem is a disconnect from what is and untethers one from reality. That is never good in the long run.
I am happy you brought this to our attention and we all should reflect on it.
Too often Americans want to have their cake and eat it too and from my perspective that is what he was trying to do. I feel guilty in demanding truth from those I do not agree with while allowing those I do agree with to be a little slippery.
I have long thought that God wants us to "seek the truth, speak the truth and live and act in truth and pray unceasingly". After 9/11 two prominent evangelicals spoke up and said that perhaps God had lifted His mantle of protection from us because of our behaviors. They were chastised and vilified and quickly withdrew their remarks. I think they were right and we should have changed our behaviors back then.
Thanks again for posting.
So what you are saying is the you can quit going to Mass and live the life of a heathen and still be considered a Catholic, but if you dare to attend an Evangelical Fellowship, your Catholic Baptism is voided and you cannot be considered a Catholic?
Is that about right?
Who is a better "Catholic", Rubio or Pelosi?
Has Rubio been excommunicated?
If not, then how can you claim he is NOT a Catholic?
And on what grounds should he be excommunicated?
