It makes no difference to me whether these 'scholars' are serious, or 'conservative'. What exactly is a 'serious Christian Scholar'? Does that happen to be anyone foolish enough to claim to know the will and purpose of God? To me, the US Constitution is God-inspired, regardless of bystanders' opinions. The mere fact that it also incorporated a provision for 'change' is a reflection that the execution of its intent involves human free will and allows for redress and change - whether you believe what I believe makes no matter. I only question the arrogance of the rejoinder.

"What exactly is a 'serious Christian Scholar'?" I'm very series, a Christian and I study.
"Does that happen to be anyone foolish enough to claim to know the will and purpose of God?"
How does one live righteously without doing exactly that?
"To me, the US Constitution is God-inspired, regardless of bystanders' opinions."
Didn't you just do what you called 'foolish' above?

Which God? Certainly not the Holy Trinity, or Jesus Christ, since they are never mentioned in the Constitution.
