TaraP,

Remember what reaganaut said, “Mormons use the Christian vocabulary, but not the Christian dictionary.”

My Mormon friend tried to commit suicide, and her brother joined the Moonies. Mormon families are not above average in depression, suicide or divorce; Marie Osmond divorced.

Mormons say they take Christ as their Savior and Lord when talking to non-Mormons. But they do not know the same God that Christians trust and love….

Go to posts 493, 468, and 464 read the warning about Mormons.

Notice the Mormons on this thread are not answering the questions about their religion that are being asked of them? Posts 298, 566. They try “poo-pooing” their way through this thread. They can’t reveal the truth of their religion, or even new Christians would reject them.

The deeper you dig, the more embarrassing it becomes for them… just glance through post 577, or the link at post 286 (website of former Mormon members).

Mormonism is a dangerous cult started 150 years ago… one of the deceptive counterfeits Jesus said would come after him.

Yeah, that was an epic moment as well. Ah the memories, we really need to start an electronic scrapbook.

Just a side question: What makes you believe the bible is true?

This is a serious question, open to any LDS person:

I am told that you pray to discover that the Book of Mormon is true, and than if it is, you get a "burning in your bosom".

What gauge do you use to determine if the bible is true?

ONLY GOD IS WORTHY OF PRAISE. Yet the LDS have a hymn about Smith, singing his praises. That is disgusting.

Disgusting indeed. The LDS seem to worship Smith. But of course they will deny it and claim they are just Christians like the rest of us. But that claim is becoming more and more lame as more Mormon doctrine is revealed.

Delphi, this is the fourth time now I will ask you infront of all those that will read this thread. You continue to ignore the most simple of questions.

Which bible do you use, the one "retranslated" by the man you claimed "communed with God face to face....Or the KJV as commanded by Brigham Young after he declared the Joseph Smith Translation a fraud ?

Your slience on this matter is deafening.

Don't bother with a bunch of links to spin sites...One word will do.

Which bible do you use, JST, or KJV ?

nobody is reading caucus threads who aren’t in the caucus. the word “Caucus” in the title screams out “stay away, this is for us”.

And any article posted as a caucus thread could be reposted by someone else as an open thread, where discussion could include everybody. This happens regularly, mostly with LDS threads but occasionally with other religious threads, as non-caucus members decide they want to have their say.

It is pretty easy to avoid all the religion threads, as they are all posted in the religion section. But it is even easier to avoid Caucus threads — the title is right there.

I don’t know why any non-LDS person would bother reading an LDS caucus thread. I usually looked at the 1st 10 posts, just to see how many freepers broke the caucus rules, but I never actually read any of them.

Wow. It took over 500 posts to get you to glaze over your eyes and revert back into your protective shell of "links".

You forgot to yawn.

They won't even state simply which Bible they use, the Joseph Smith "translation" declared a fraud by Brigham Young, or the King James version.

Well, I'm up for that...I use several versions which gives one a broad understanding. One shouldn't be concerned which version they use as God's Word goes out from "HIM" and accomplishes what He sets it out to do. Too many get caught up in what they don't understand when in many cases God will take one no further until they have acted on what they do understand.

Any book which has been "added" to the Bible... (which has come thru the ages in tact).... should be avoided....for Mormons they would do well staying away from the story book Joseph Smith compiled....it is full of occultist mumbo jumbo topping off stolen references from the King James.

I see. Only YOUR “myths and fantasies” count.

And what myths and fantasies of we Christians would that be, PD?

It is the anti-Mormon freeper gang that “posts offensive, provocative, inflammatory stuff on a daily basis”.

Not as offensive as the things Joseph Smith and Brigham Young did.

If they were alive today, they might call themselves The Delightful Pooty Tang Posse and rapping to the songs of Mountain Meadow Boyz and dat ol' crazy pimp Biggie Young and his many hoes.

Can't you tell that all that stuff on that papyrus scroll is about Abraham! It is so OBVIOUS!!!! That scene clearly shows Abraham about to sacrafice Isaac!

TaraP, reaganaut has been there and back. She’s an amazing woman and incredibly well-educated. You’d be in good hands to talk with her.

You make it sound like only Christian groups are allowed caucus designation, and that isn’t true. There are Jewish/Noahchide caucuses as well.

The problem is that the LDS ABUSE the caucus designation, posting articles that are designed to proselytize without any debate.

"Boldly I stand with the Lord’s annoited servant Joseph Smith and Jesus Christ and the Heavenly Father.

Resty, Joe Smith wasn't "annointed" by anyone or anything. He may have been sprayed by a keg of beer in his home during the time he sold beer and wine, so, if you call that "annointing" you are sadly mistaken. Joe Smith was 2-bit adulterous con who was in jail for ordering the destruction of the Nauvoo printing press office. He should have already been in jail for all his bogus 'divining rod' schemes that bilked money out of innocent folks.

But this title wasn’t a “shot” at other groups of believers, by the definition of caucus threads. I thought the rules made it clear that the fact that a particular religious belief contradicted another religion’s belief did not make it an attack on that other religion.

Certainly, there are caucus threads where specific beliefs of specific denominations are in the title, beliefs which other denominations find rediculous or even offensive. But that doesn’t make them ineligible for caucus designation, right?
