My knowledge of the Bible is shallow....

The poster has no clue about my knowledge of the Bible, so in essence she accussed me of something that is un-true.

That is Un-Christian....

I was honest on this thread..I do not know about Mormom Doctrine...I DO KNOW THE BIBLE..

I do know Jesus Christ, and the Jesus Christ I follow does not bash other’s he offers truth and grace and repentenance...

In fact Jesus condemned Religious Hypocrites harsher than he did Pagans.

I was never a part of any such campaign.

You also didn't repudiate the campaign either - sustain by silence?

He ripped some stuff out of the Bible to make it sound valid, then used some obviously concocted writings to make it sound “biblical”.

No!

Are you pulling my leg??

We have one God

- - - - - -
B.S. The LDS have THREE ‘gods’ who are one only in purpose (with two physical bodies).

In addition, their leaders have taught that there are millions of gods out there and that they can become Gods themselves.

So to say that you believe in only ONE God is intentionally misleading. Maybe only one God ‘for this world’, or only one God in purpose, but not as the Bible teaches it.

And the only ‘salvation’ by grace is resurrection. Exaltation (Heaven to Christians) REQUIRES WORKS. Works to the LDS are required not just a sign of faith. For Christians, works are what we do when we have already been saved, not to get there, but for the LDS they are needed (including secret handshakes) to get back to God. That is not salvation by grace at all.

Want sources/quotes Delph? I can provide them.

So basically Mormons believe Peter lost the keys to the Church...

Not to worry, it won't happen again.

Show us one example from the Bible (or History) where an actual Martyr fought back.

C’mon we are waiting.

Martyrs don’t fight back, Smith died in a gunfight caused by his own arrogance and vandalism. That is not a martyr.

This was a caucus thread which it is highly unlikely I would ever have posted on that was summarily moved to breaking news, and stripped of it’s caucus status. No due process, not moved to the back room, the rules were broken, and at the highest level of this forum. Are you comfortable with that?
***I admit some discomfort, but xzins has brought up an excellent point. Essentially, the rules were NOT followed, and consequences ensued.

......................................
From post 559 on this thread:
Actually, Jim, I think this is consistent with the rules that were discussed when the “new” religion mod took up the mantle.

While caucuses, devotionals, etc., were allowed it was stated at the time that a caucus TITLE or the content of a caucus THREAD could not be worded in such a way as to provoke others. “Joseph Smith: an apostle of Jesus Christ” is a bit of a red flag, wouldn’t you think?

“Joseph Smith: founder of the Mormon movement” would be a title that wouldn’t provoke. It would just be a statement of fact.

The Relig Mod might remember all this. I’m pretty sure that I do.

Delphi I asked you a simple question which you have not answered.

Sorry, I didn't realize I was at your beck and call... I answer posts in the order received if possible, and I have answered your question it was KJV.

Which bible do you use, the Joseph Smith Translation, "corrected" and written by the man you claim communed with God himself and founded your church.....Or the King James Version which Brigham Young ordered to be used after he declared the JST "spurious" and a fraud ?

Simple question, JST or KJV ?

ATTENTION LURKERS...WITNESS MORMON SPIN IN ACTION.

ATTENTION LURKERS...NEEDLESS SHOUTING ON A THREAD!

BTW, what's spinning about a straight up answer?

Here is what I think of most questions asked with shouting like yours was:

Can a mortal ask questions which God finds unanswerable? Quite easily, I should think. All nonsense questions are unanswerable. C. S. Lewis

He ripped some stuff out of the Bible to make it sound valid, then used some obviously concocted writings to make it sound 'biblical'.

No!  You have GOT to be kidding - right????

"But when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away, (for it was very great,) and two angels sitting thereon, clothed in long white garments; and they were affrighted.

"But the angels said unto them, Be not affrighted; ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified; he is risen; he is not here; behold the place where they laid him;

"And go your way, tell his disciples and Peter, that he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him as he said unto you.

"And they, entering into the sepulcher, saw the place where they laid Jesus" (JST Mark 16:3-6).

JST = the bastardized version (which does NOT even rate as SCRIPTURE in the MORMON library)  that the 'lord' commanded Joseph Smith to 'translate' from the KJV.

What does SCRIPTURE really say???

Mark 16:3-6 (King James Version)

3And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?

4And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.

5And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.

6And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

Truth
Fiction
3And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?

"But when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away, (for it was very great,) and two angels sitting thereon, clothed in long white garments; and they were affrighted.

4And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.

"But the angels said unto them, Be not affrighted; ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified; he is risen; he is not here; behold the place where they laid him;

5And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.

"And go your way, tell his disciples and Peter, that he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him as he said unto you.

6And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

"And they, entering into the sepulcher, saw the place where they laid Jesus"

Wow, Elsie, look at all those footnotes at the bottom of the page, AND NOT ONE REFERENCE to the Joseph Smith Translation ! Looks exactly like the LDS Scriptures I used for 35 years, which are exactly liek I said they are in only referncing the POGP, in spite of what T.P. asserts.

Well again....I don’t know what Mormom Doctrine teaches.....

And it appears your knowledge of the BIBLE is a bit shallow, too.

As was mine when I was searching. It makes Tara an easy mark for the LDS.

I can't tell you how just being AROUND Mormons caused me to start to "disremember" what I had been taught from childhood. I really thought things like "Yeah, Book of Moses. That sounds right", and wondering if I was mixed up on if Jesus was really God.

Arrogance and Condemnation is not of the *Christ*

- - - - -
Neither is false doctrine.

And els never said throw them out. That doesn’t mean wish them well either.

BTW, we have the LDS missionaries over to our house for dinner, but WE NEVER EVER EVER LET THEM PRAY IN OUR HOUSE AND WE DO NOT ACCEPT THEM AS ‘BROTHERS IN CHRIST’.

CHRIST WASN’T A WIMP NOR DID HE HAVE THE ‘GO ALONG TO GET ALONG’ ATTITUDE I SEE HERE SO OFTEN. Christ told it like it is, He told the truth and that is all we are doing.

You can love someone straight to Hell.

Do you see how these two sentences from your post are contradictory?

I do know Jesus Christ, and the Jesus Christ I follow does not bash other’s he offers truth and grace and repentenance...

In fact Jesus condemned Religious Hypocrites harsher than he did Pagans.

Give Matthew 10:34 a read ... Jesus explains His mission, and it is not to bring Peace at this juncture. Peace is what He brings at a later juncture fast approaching our time.
