"If" is the defining word in your statement. Mormons don't necessarily beleive in the salvational work of Christ, but believe (according to their third article of faith) that: We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
Mormons might "seem" to be good people...so what? Many sinners appear to be good. There is none good, but one. Anyone who believes otherwise is obviously in disagreement with the Bible or believes it is not translated correctly. What do you believe?
Why was your #96 addressed to my #89?
Oh believe in your fairy tales who cares those who are seekers of truth can discern for themselves!
Cheers!
This thread has just been bumped in the sidebar by an equally incredible story: the Seattle Seahawks are going to the playoffs with a 7-9 record.
Why??/Aren’t they all sinners saved by the Grace of Jesus Christ?
:) that is what I meant....
I do not practice any religion. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that Jesus is God Incarnate, who lived on Earth in a mortal body, who was crucified to take the sins of the world, and made available to me specifically. I do gather with like-minded folk in a place we call church to join in worship of Him.
Mormonism teaches that the only path through the Pearly Gates is routed past Joe Smith's desk! It also teaches that by tithing and keeping your wife subjugated, that a man can become god of his own planet. It leaves women to clean up the mess and spew out lots of baby Mormons... and allows the husband to leave her behind if he doesn't want to take her to his new life. It teaches of secret temple ceremonies and special privileges that MUST BE PURCHASED (that tithe is written down every week and must be reconciled often) or you don't get through the door!
They also give special powers to underwear and don't take them off (according to them!).
Jesus said to TaraP, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man or woman comes to the Father except by me.” (The LORD Jesus Christ, John 14:6)
It does not bother me....
If you work at it, maybe you can get a good sub-argument going on this thread between Calvinists and Catholics.
I believe Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father but by him period...John 14:6
Jesus gave us a clear commandment as Christians to love God with our entire minds
What is the first and greatest commandment?
[The first and greatest commandment is You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.]
2. What is the second commandment?
[The second commandment is Love your neighbor as yourself.]

Thanks for the pink..interesting thread. I agree with the poster back aways that in time the Romney run will be in full swing by these folks. My stomach will curdle if that happens.
Pretty much my point, although I’m too canny to get sucked into that particular quagmire. :)
A number of particularly vicious wars were fought over the issue, so it doesn’t seem likely we’ll settle it here.
If that is the extent of your knowledge of Mormonism, I implore you to educate yourself in the matter. You'll be stunned and shocked beyond belief, if you're a Christian. Believe me, we do not share the same Jesus with them.
Well again....I don’t know what Mormom Doctrine teaches.....
I thought they were Christians....
It sounds like you want FR to become a de facto Anti Mormon site.
If everyone is tired of all things Mormon on FR, why not just stop allowing all Mormon posts altogether, pro and con. If one would stop, I suspect the other would too.
I think you would have a hard time moderating the Glenn Beck threads to make sure they didn't digress, but if you feel that strongly, put an end to all of it.
Football.
I’m still in disbelief...lol.
Where I live, there are a ton of Mormons. I get knocks on the door every six months asking if my family and I would like to join the local mormon church. At one time I was thinking on becoming a mormon, that was until I did some research on it. Coming to Free Republic saved me and my family from making a big mistake.
