ALL of LIFE IS PRECIOUS!! HOW TOUCHING AND BEAUTIFUL!! ALL THINGS TO THE GLORY OF GOD!
“A womans decision whether to bring a baby to term...”
Sorry, but I think the husband/father should have a say in this decision as well if the mother’s life is not in jeopardy.
I refused Down Syndrome testing because I wasn’t going to do anything antilife if the baby did have it.
What a sad, yet sweet article. I wonder how many parents are haunted by the fact that they chose aborton in these instances.
Yep - for where there is love, there is no harm, and that fulfils the intent of all the commandments. Killing the unborn deprives them and the parents of an opportunity for this wonderful love-thing to take place.
My step daughter became deathly ill seven years ago and was rushed to the ER. Turns out she had a ruptured appendix but during the exam they did a pregnancy test and discovered she was pregnant. The doctors urged her to let them “clean you out” while they went forward with the appendectomy. She is a member of the LDS Church and told the doctors that she didn’t believe in abortion and to leave the baby alone! The doctors gave her dire warnings about the consequences for her and the baby. Blah blah blah. And that’s how we got Joshua, the cutest, smartest, sweetest, most adorable grandson in the whole wide world!!!
“I refused Down Syndrome testing because I wasnt going to do anything antilife if the baby did have it.”
Good for you.
May I ask if they still did the surgery? If they can do a C-section with an epidural, couldn’t they do other types of surgery?
Beautiful.
I so believe in this. Let Life be up to Gd.
One of our candidates faced this. Santorum was told his child would die. Yet she is still alive 5 years later.
Every baby is perfect.
I has to stop reading...as the screen got real blurry for some reason...
They did the surgery for the diseased appendix but left the baby alone. Hooray for Joshua!
Yes... hooray for Joshua. But super hooray for your step-daughter who stood her ground and maintained her moral convictions.
You are in including the terrorists responsible for 9/11 etc.
My wife and I felt the same way when she was carrying our daughter. I had a friend who felt differently..his wife was pregnant in her late 30’s... and he demanded she get every possible test to rule out defects no matter what risk it posed to his daughter.
I lost so much respect for him because of that...
43 % of women by age 45 have had an abortion...many more than one
They refused, had to go through genetic counseling (which was horrific for them) and the bullying continued there as well.
They now have a 10 year old girl, 7 year old boy and a 4 year old boy. ALL PERFECTLY HEALTHY! We still get SO angry when we talk about it.
I refused it as well. Fortunately, my OB/GYN simply presented the test. After some discussion on my part, he simply said, “If you don’t care about the answer.... you don’t have to ask the question”. I didn’t care about the answer.
As an expectant father, on one hand I agree with you but what if the parents disagree?
Then what?
