They were children. Even if that vision at Fatima was legit, it's not a child's responsibility to correct bad church doctrine. That's the adult's job.

And the Scriptural basis for the rosary is? And why pray it? What does it do or what was it supposed to accomplish in connection with the Fatima visits?

If the vision was legitimate, she would have directed attention to Jesus than to pray a rosary that is almost all about her.
