What must I do to be saved from God’s wrath and be made acceptable to Him? Is it good works that saves? Is it God that saves?

Galatians 2:16 ...for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Nothing is required on our part to receive the saving grace of God today. You need not perform any good work - nothing! But God must do something - and He did that through Christ Jesus.

God has provided a way for anyone to be saved from God's wrath in Revelation and it has nothing to do with your own good works. The way - as the early Christians were called - is by believing in what Jesus Christ has accomplished for you on the cross which He died for all sins past, sins present, sins future to 30AD. For by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. (Galatians 2:16)

The shed blood of Christ paid for your debt of sin which no amount of good works could even begin to pay for such debt. Christ had willingly suffered the determinate council of God’s wrath on the cross as Redeemer for us, even though He did not deserve such suffering - for He was completely righteous and completely without sin. Because of this, God can now freely offer you and me forgiveness and justification from all sin past, sin percent to the cross, and sin future to 30AD. God is absolutely just in offering you His righteousness and justification for your sins have been fully paid for by the blood of Christ - nothing to perform to be saved except to have faith in this finished and fully paid for cross work of Christ.

Please, be reconciled to God by trusting in what Christ has done for you, and put your belief in His blood to pay for every sin, now and in the future. All the work is done; just believe.

In James 2:17: Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. this verse DOES NOT NEGATE what is clearly said in Romans 3:21-26, 4:2, Galatians 2:16. Anyone who used this verse to "try" to NEGATE Romans 3:21-26, 4:2, Galatians 2:16, is clearly failing to understand the purpose and audience for which James wrote. If James NEGATES Romans and Galatians, then someone has made God be be a liar in the Scriptures...but it is not God nor His holy men who lied... Now read the truths of faith without works salvation as proved in Romans and Galatians:

Romans 3:21-26 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

Galatians 2:16: Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Romans 4:2: For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.

Don’t eat the grapes? Maybe it’s an apple. Just stay away from fruit altogether.

The way to be assured of going to Heaven when one dies is simply to trust in Jesus Christ alone for one’s eternal salvation. Accept Jesus Christ as one’s only Savior. Faith alone in Christ alone.

He is eternal God, the second Person of the Trinity, who became incarnate. Without ceasing to be God, He took on Himself true humanity. He did this in order to die on the cross in payment for our sins.

As He hung on the cross, our sins were judicially imputed or ascribed to Him. Our sins were poured out on Him and judged by God the Father. Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sins.

The Bible tells us to accept Jesus Christ’s finished work on the cross (His substitutionary atonement in payment for our sins) as the only way of salvation.

It’s worthless to rely instead on our own works (or a mix of faith and works) to save us.

John 6:28-29
Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”
Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

2 Corinthians 5:21
For He (God the Father) has made Him (Jesus Christ) to be sin for us (He was judged for our sins, He died as a substitute for us), who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

John 3:16-18
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He who believes on him is not condemned: but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 6:47
(Jesus Christ said) He who believes in me has everlasting life.

John 10:28-30
I give them eternal life and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.

Acts 4:12
And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

Acts 16:31
Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved...

Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you are saved through faith and this is not from you, it is the gift of God. It is not from works, so no one may boast.

1 John 5:11-12
God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

Acts 10:43
Every one who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.

Romans 4:7-8
Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will never count against him.

John 11:25-26
(Jesus Christ said) I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?

Jesus Christ in His own words:

“I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me shall not hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.”
John 6:35

“I am the light of the world; he who follows Me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
John 8:12

“I am the gate; if anyone enters through Me, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”
John 10:9

“I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for His sheep.”
John 10:11

“I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies.”
John 11:25

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.”
John 14:6

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.”
John 15:1

“Truly, Truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.”
John 8:58

“But what about you?” he (Jesus) asked. “Who do you say I am?”
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.”
Matthew 16:13-17

Actually, I don’t think the forbidden fruit was the apple; I think it was the pomegranate, or something just like it. Why? God’s use of that fruit, of all things, in the design of the Priest’s robes:

Exo 28:33 And beneath upon the hem of it thou shalt make pomegranates of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, round about the hem thereof; and bells of gold between them round about:
Exo 28:34 A golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, upon the hem of the robe round about.

Exo 39:25 And they made bells of pure gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates upon the hem of the robe, round about between the pomegranates;
Exo 39:26 A bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, round about the hem of the robe to minister in; as the LORD commanded Moses.

And for what reason would God do that? So that the priests would always be reminded of the original cause of the sin of disobedience and the fall of humanity. IMHO.

What you must do is, confess your sins,to God, and ask forgivness in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

You need not perform any good work - nothing!

That is horrible advice and equally horrible theology.

You need not do any good work? What?

Aren’t we supposed to be G-d’s partners in making the world a better place and not just worry about salvation?

I’m glad I converted to Judaism because we are supposed to work together as G-d’s partners, not worry about the next life.

I’m not worried about going to hell, either.

As a Jew I find that deplorable. It’s the total opposite of what HaShem wants of us.

If you can’t forgive how can you expect G-d to forgive you? In your daily life as you come in contact with people who do you wrong are you able to forgive their trespass? Of course believing in Yashua as your Savior is the main thing; to be reconciled with G-d. I am not a theologian. I just believe.

Amen to all you said. When I initially responded to your post I got sidetracked. What I intended to say was that God’s free gift of Eternal Salvation through faith in Jesus Christ is so enormously generous and wonderful as to defy description. I think Paul’s statement in 2nd Corinthians Chapter 9 may be the UNDERSTATEMENT of the Ages, seeing that the gift is eternal, never-ending joy and bliss in God’s perfect FOREVER in a brand new Universe wherin there has never been any sin.

2nd Corinthians 9:15 Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

2Peter 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

You just called God a liar ... considering that God said that we are saved and justified by the faith of Christ and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

The reference I made regarding 'you need not perform any good work [for salvation] is completely Biblical. Try reading God's Word before you accuse a believer-saint of falsely advising horrible theology. God is not a liar. Man is a liar.

Take a trip to Eden and explore what grows there:

Adji Chay, Iran.

Hurry, as many are eager to turn Iran - including the original Eden - into a nuclear wasteland.

My post was in regards to the advice and theology that you put forth, in your own words.

You are not God.

It is instantly clear that you believe yourself to be some sort of direct conduit, and the falseness of that belief is equally apparent.

So I leave you to yourself, that I may converse with the sane.

“What you must do is, confess your sins,to God, and ask forgivness in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.”

______________________________________

Private confession of one’s sins to God is extremely important in order for the Christian to maintain fellowship with God.

I John 1:9 (”If we confess our sins...”) is addressed to those who are already Christians.

Confession of sin is not, however, the criterion for receiving the free gift of eternal salvation.

The Biblical criterion for receiving the free gift of eternal salvation is faith alone in Christ alone.

The following verses tell us how to be saved. Confession of sin isn’t mentioned:

John 3:16-18
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever BELIEVES in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He who BELIEVES on him is not condemned: but he who does not BELIEVE is condemned already, because he has not BELIEVED in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 6:47
(Jesus Christ said) He who BELIEVES in me has everlasting life.

Acts 16:31
BELIEVE in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved

Acts 10:43
Every one who BELIEVES in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.

John 11:25-26
(Jesus Christ said) I am the resurrection and the life. He who BELIEVES in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and BELIEVES in me will never die. Do you BELIEVE this?

” . . .the original cause of the sin of disobedience and the fall of humanity.” ???????????????

I doubt the dumb fruit caused sin. A little more reflection could be useful.
