Billy Graham Evangelistic Association Cuts Jobs While Revenues Rise
by Steve Eastman, Faith Issues
Employees of non-profit religious organizations usually pray for donations to increase. Staff of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) have seen those prayers answered recently, but close to 10 percent are losing their jobs anyway.
According to a statement from the association, This in no way reflects the financial health of the organization. The most recent records show $91.6 million coming in last year. Thats compared to $85.7 million for 2010.
The statement explains that BGEA continues seeking ways to improve our effectiveness and incorporate advances in technology. We are redeploying resources to support our strategic priorities, one of which includes SearchforJesus.net evangelism ministry.
The new wave of layoffs begins the middle of this month. Some of the departing workers will not have to leave until mid-June. Spokesman Brent Rhinehart says BGEA is helping with severance packages and career assistance.

Sounds like responsible stewardship to me.
What would Jesus do (to spread the Gospel no less)?
That said, I am confident that the BG Evangelistic Assn will do the right thing!

I didn’t know that! Where do I go to learn FR etiquette with examples such as that one?
I’m guessing a RINOmneybot would want to post this... what say you n00b?
Though it might help some to have a Freep etiquette section, there is none that I know of now. Watching and learning helped me.
