But we still cannot judge the internal guilt of a woman who has had an abortion. That is for God alone. Every abortion is [objectively speaking] a grave moral evil. But what is the culpability of the woman who has had an abortion? That is for God alone to judge. Although we are free to judge actions and ideas, we are not free to judge persons. Hence the Scripture:

“There is but one Lawgiver and Judge, one who can save and destroy. Who then are YOU to judge your neighbor?” (James 4: 12).

Yet, the person who consents to the abortion is guilty of killing a human child.
