First Gay-Marriage Suit Hits Catholic Institution
The New York Post ^ | 6/20/12 | Bruce Golding

A lesbian couple from Westchester yesterday filed the first suit against a Catholic institution for refusing to recognize New York’s gay-marriage law.

The Manhattan federal court filing says the women — identified only as “Jane Roe” and “Jane Doe” — were wed Oct. 15, and that “Roe,” who’s worked at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Yonkers since 2007, later applied to add “Doe” to her medical-benefits coverage.

But the request was denied by both St. Joseph’s and its insurance administrator, Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, because hospital policy excludes same-sex spouses.

Many companies have a Morality Clause in their business contract. If present, (as I would hope it would be), the Church would simply terminate this person for violation of the morality clause. Whether Gay Marriage is legal or not; this would be a violation of the employee contract with the hospital.

Perverts should not be allowed to marry.
That our Governments in some areas have decided to fly in the face of 2000 years of history, tradition, natural law, real laws and God’s Word is what is causing this slow destruction of our society.
Hopefully the courts will stand for right instead of wrong in this case..

“the Church would simply terminate this person for violation of the morality clause”

which they would also challenge as disctiminarion or a violation of their civil rights since their ‘marriage’ is ‘recognized’ by the ‘state’.

This will end up in the supreme court.

I still don’t understand why gays would even want to marry in the Catholic church.

And the scumbag governor of New York, along with Dean Skelos, the alleged republic majority senate leader, deliberately left the language in the same sex marriage law ambiguous knowing that this would happen.

I am suprised it took a year.

Evil seeks to destroy good especially from the inside.

They aren’t asking to be married in the church; they are “married” by the state’s reckoning and want the church to recognize it by paying benefits.

One of the main goals of the homosexual agenda is the destruction of the traditional family and Christian values. This is why churches, the Catholic church in particular, is being targeted. It has nothing to do with “equality” or “civil rights”.

Nope. If I sign a Employee Contract with a "Morality Clause" (especially with a religious organization), I am compelled by that clause to not oppose that institution's belief's, to take any action against the organization's belief structure, or to commit certain "sins", despite the fact that these "sins" are perfectly legal.

For example, say you take a job as a teacher working for a Catholic/Baptist/Mormon/Luthern based school - and you decide it would be a great idea to have 3 co-eds move in with you .... do you suppose you would be fired? Was this illegal?

It’s because the Catholic church says no. If they can force the Catholic church to capitulate then they can say that Jesus blesses gay marriage.

That is why. It’s not about ‘marriage’, it’s about religious persecution - the same as when Rome tried to force Christians to sacrifice to the Emperor.

We didn’t then, and we won’t now.

Exactly so. I am a Catholic, I teach for a Catholic private school. I have a morality clause in my contract which obliges me to defend the Catholic church and the teachings of the Catholic church, not just when I’m on the job but off as well.

That is why they hired me in the first place, and I’m thankful for the job. If I didn’t want this contract then I ought not to have signed it.

And the courts nowadays could decide the Church doesn’t belong in any business or enterprise that isn’t Sunday services. The Left would be perfectly ok with that outcome.

Watch a Leftist NY court force this sodomy down a Catholic institution's throat. And watch the Catholic hospital cancel their company-sponsored insurance plan for it. Another institution did just this in response to the "birth control" issue.

It would probably make the carpet munchers joyful to spoil it for everyone else. And everyone else should absolutely excoriate this dyke until she quits.

"Religious exemptions" were included in the counterfeit "marriage" bill to make it just palatable enough for a few RINO legislators to swallow. But what the legislators apparently failed to notice is that there is a non-severability clause in these religious exemption amendments, so if one falls by a leftist court's edict they all do.

This was written by design to follow exactly this plan we now see.

They can file all the suits they want to. In the Catholic Church marriage is a Sacrament between a man and a woman. The Sacrament of Matrimony.
