Pro-abortion protesters storm church chanting, ‘If Mary had aborted, we wouldn’t have this nonsense’

GRANBY, Quebec, October 12, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) – A Quebec pro-life conference was interrupted last weekend when about a dozen pro-abortion protesters stormed the evangelical church in which it was held and began chanting blasphemous slogans in front of the barricaded doors of the conference hall. Police had to bring in reinforcements to remove the protesters.

“The church door was locked to keep the protesters out, but as one of the conference participant left the building during the morning session, the protesters took advantage of the open door and snuck in,” said Georges Buscemi, president of Quebec Life Coalition, to LifeSiteNews.com.

The pro-abortion protesters stormed the stairwell leading to the conference hall, but were stopped short by the conference doors that had just been barricaded.

“One of our people physically blocked the doors to prevent the protesters from entering,” said Buscemi.

The pro-abortion groups provided free transportation to what they told participants would be an “action pacifique théâtrale” (peaceful action drama).

Buscemi said that about 20 young people from the ages of 16 to 25 showed up outside the conference building around 8 a.m. with banners that supported “reproductive choice”.

Upon reached the barricaded doors of the conference hall, the protesters clapped and stamped, shouting slogans for 10 minutes before police reinforcements arrived and were able to intervene.

Behind the barricaded doors, conference attendees heard the protesters chanting the equivalent in French of “It’s my body, my choice”.

They also heard chanted a French pro-abortion sing-song against the Virgin Mary: “Ah si Marie avait connu l’avortement, on n’aurait pas tous ces emmerdement.s” (“Oh, If Mary had known about abortion, we wouldn’t have to deal with all this nonsense.”)

Pastor Stéphane Gagné, who was in the midst of his presentation when the protester stormed the building, expressed outraged over the “commotion and shouting”.

“So much for their ‘peaceful’ demonstration and to Hell with [their notion of] respect… I myself was delivering my lecture when the commotion and shouting prevented me from continuing,” he wrote on a blog.

Once police reinforcements arrived, the protesters were expelled from the church building.

“Although the official report says that the protesters did not resist, the fact is they refused to obey the officers who at first asked them to leave the building,” wrote Gagné.

An unmarked police car was seen by Buscemi to have trailed the protester’s bus as it left the area.

The annual Quebec Life Coalition conference has the goal of “forming citizens to act consistently with the values upon which Quebec was founded”. MP Stephen Woodworth delivered the keynote on his efforts to introduce into Parliament a motion that would have set up a committee to examine the humanity of the unborn child. M-312 failed to pass with only 91 MPs voting for it.

Buscemi said that he became concerned a few days prior to the conference after he saw an “Action Alert” posted online by Le Comité femme du Cégep de Sherbrook (Women’s Committee of Sherbrooke College) and de la faculté des lettres et sciences humaines de l’université de Sherbrooke (Faculty of Humanities at the University of Sherbrooke) that encouraged people to come out and protest what the groups saw as an “anti-choice and homophobic” conference.

Buscemi said that he was “not surprised” by the protesters. “Can you really expect people who advocate for the death of babies in the womb to be polite and respectful of property?”

“It’s only going to get worse in the future,” he said.

We should indeed pray for them. Pray that the bondage and power that satan has over their lives will be revealed to them by God and they will confess and repent of their sins and accept salvation through Jesus Christ.

These people have no idea the powerful evil forces they are dancing with. Nor do they conceive that they are no match for those forces and that satan desires their own destruction. I shudder for these people.

Yes, he was born and raised in miserable circumstances, but he's had plenty of time since then to grow up.

Yes, but ....

For emotionally crippled people, recovery isn't simply a matter of "grow up and snap out of it." Some people are scarred for life. Many act out or compensate in a wide variety of ways. There is a huge gray area here, but politicians as a class are somewhat suspect, and the more driven they are, the more one suspects that there is something wrong at the core.

Radical movements in particular are heavily overpopulated with behavioral and emotional basket cases. That is not to say that everyone who marches under a radical banner is dysfunctional -- that is certainly not the case, but it is equally clear that dysfunctional types are disproportionately attracted to political radicalism ... some combination of therapy and "the god that failed." Obama does not seem to be an especially extreme case, but the coldness, the arrogance, the narcissism, the (usually) masked anger, the obvious contempt for adversaries, the contempt for the truth ... these are all classic markers.

Psychohistory is a tricky subject and it is best to resort to such methods as a last resort. But from time to time, we are confronted with folks whose behavior is outside normal ranges. Obama strikes me as borderline, but the artificiality of his public persona and the fierceness with which his past is guarded raise big red flags that something is amiss. But you already knew that.

One of my disappointments with Obama is that he hasn't used his bully pulpit to preach on the importance of fathers. He may have touched on it from time to time, but he is uniquely placed to carry the message where it is needed most. No government program in the world would do as much for the underclass as a reduction in illegitimacy rates. I wonder if Barack understands this. He should, but he chooses transference and projection instead.

I have compassion only for those that act in (take out their frustration on themselves), not out. If you feel you must be destructive, don't take it out on a bunch of innocent people.

It sounds like something out of the French Revolution. If Christianity had never happened, they would most likely be peasants under the heel of some warlord.

abandoned by his father almost from birth, and thrown away as an impediment by his mother ten years later.

Little Baraq had more advantages than untold millions of other "abandoned" children, most of whom didn't grow up to be narcissistic wannabe-Napoleans.

If I'm ever raped or murdered, pray God you and those who think like you aren't on the jury of my attacker, making excuses as to why it wasn't really his fault, it was "society."

For many hell will be/is a place of total isolation coupled with eternal torment. They are like their father the devil.
I pity them, their lives are bleak and their eternal lives most desperate.

I didn’t say I would make excuses. I’m for hanging murderers and rapists. All I’m suggesting here is that the pathologies often run deep, and “grow out of it” isn’t an adequate response.

Seriously, you should be ashamed. It is a sin to pray for anyone to go to hell.

I have long wondered whether Barack's mom made it very clear that she resented his existence. From little childhood, he was made to understand that his being was unjustified. Unless... unless he made up for his existence by securing abortions for all women, everywhere. Then the injustice could be turned into justice.

He clearly and passionately sees abortion as something he is morally obliged to champion. The abortionists are the one constituency he has never betrayed.

It is, in some ways an intimately personal malformation, in some ways a cosmic tragedy.

I understand the feeling of revulsion against these brutal and perverted people, but hating THEM is succumbing to the error of failing to separate the sinner from the sin. We hate the sin, above all, because of what it is doing to the sinner: twisting him into a repulsive Gollum, enslaved by demons and alienated from the Father who loves him.

The vengeful wrath against enemies in the Psalms must be read in the light of the prophet Ezechiel who said,

Ezekiel 18:23 Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign LORD. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?
Ezekiel 18:32 For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent and live!

and (remembering that Jesus Christ is THE Divine Revelation) understand everything in the light of Christ who said

Matthew 5:44 You have heard it said, "Love your friends and hate your enemies," but I say to you, Love your enemies, pray for those who persecute you.

Show respect also for the Lord's Apostle Paul, who explained the Lord's intention:

1 Tim 2:4 He wills that all men be saved, and come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Bears repeating. Spot on.
